Hand: AKo
Position: BTN
Stack: 175$
Villain: Loose weak 30yo, no more info on him (covers, SB).

Preflop Action: 2 limps, I raise to 15$, SB calls, BB calls, MP calls. (60$)
Flop: 743r
Action: 3 checks, I bet 30$, V calls. (120$)
Turn: Qh
Action: Check, check. (120$)
River: Jd
Action: Check, I?

What do I do here do I just check, I know I have a bit of SDV, but he might take this line with a 7 or a 4 even a 3, or a mid pocket pair and would fold here if I bet since 2 overcards came on the turn and on the river that hit my preflop raising range. I know it's pretty player dependant and I need more info on my opponent, but that's what I wrote and I probably just didn't have more information on the guy.

The Q is a good barrel card. It depends on the opponent but I bluff here a lot with success. Bet $65 on the turn.

As played you don't have much showdown value, IMO. V would have to float the flop OOP with the worst relative position and at best a gutshot. I would bet $50 on the river. You credibly rep Qx,Jx 88-JJ, KK, AA, 7x, and opponent's range is heavily capped.

I agree with Browni. You need to be barreling the Q. Your opponent is OOP so will probably not be floating you with anything except a weak made hand. Be cause of this, he almost always has a small 1 pair hand, maybe a small pocket pair. Barreling the Q will probably take it down. Barreling the J on the river will almost always take it down. I'd barrel about 1/2 psb on both streets.

the thing is that the guy was so loose, he could have called the turn with a 3 or a 4 (a 7 for sure)... OTR now with 3 overs to his 3 or 4 I'm more confident I'll let it go.

So I betted 45$ and he folded.

If you put him on a small pair that's exactly why you should barrel the queen. It looks like it hits your range and you'll often fold him out.

I like that it took several posts before someone mentioned anything about flop play.

Betting flops with ace high 4-ways is a pretty quick path to bustoville.
