This was hand from my birthday session at my local casino versus a total maniac who had just come over from the other table that broke. He brought around $800-900 with him and within a few orbits (after playing 90% of the hands, clearly trying to run over the table) he was down to around $600, so it was fairly obvious that he was starting to tilt if he wasn't already. I had $363 in my stack to start the hand.
Dealt Ah Ad in BB it was folded around to the HJ(maniac) who raised to $12. CO folds and the BTN and SB call. I raise to $33 and the action is back on the maniac who tanks for about 1 minute, pulls his original bet back then slides a 20 stack of $5 chips into the middle ($100) and the BTN and SB fold.
I tank for about a minute as well trying to make it seem like I have a decision. Taking into account he is tilting and looking to win back his money I simply slide all my chips into the middle and he snap calls me. In my haste I flip my cards over instantly (forgetting you don't need to show when all in).
The board runs out Ks 2s 3c Qs 10d
At this point I am thinking I lost, but thankfully he mucks his hand as soon as the river card is dealt.
Any thoughts on how I could have approached the situation differently? I am happy with the result of the hand (obviously) just wanting to know if there was a better line that I could have taken in that situation. Also what you guys think the maniac might have had in his hand (I think AK).
Any input in appreciated, thanks for reading
