Feel like I dont have a good handle on these spots.

1/2, 8 handed

Not a great read on villain. I have maybe 1.5 hrs with him. 30 yr old wg. Seems fairly tight (havent seen much action from him yet), but he is straddling so hes probably not THAT tight.

villain utg straddles to 5 ($185 stack)

fold
hero utg+1 raises to $15 with AA (covers)
folds to villain in the straddle who calls

flop ($27)

JT5

hero bets $21, call

turn ($69)

JT59

hero? at this point villain has $150 left. Do we want to bet call, bet fold, or check? All 3 seemed close to me somehow.

youre betting here for sure. You cant check and give a free K Q J 8 7 which are all really bad for you. He most likely has Jx or Tx, and if he raises on the turn youre probably dead. You can probably make it small like $25 OTT.

I ended up b/f 40. Felt dirty tho getting such good odds to call but Im a bit of a station normally so need to b/f more. Cannot count the amount of times where I bet planning to b/f, and then once raised I convince myself that odds are great and it's possible villain can be bluffing / value betting worse, but it usually just isn't near often enough to validate a call.

In this hand, better to bet call with KK and QQ. Guess I can check back Jx on the turn to gain a semblance of balance
