2/5 game at the Isle, Christmas weekend.
I've recently been moved to this table from a broken game. Have 1.2k, and there are a few other 200bb+ stacks. Button straddles to $10, both blinds fold and I'm UTG with A
A
, raise to $35, MP1 and HJ both call, button straddle calls. 4- ways to the flop.
Flop ($140) Tx7
4
I lead for $85, HJ calls. HJ is a tournament player mostly, middle aged losing reg $750 to start hand.
Turn ($310) Tx7

The Jack isn't a great card for me as 89 and JJ get there, but the board is so wet that I think I still can get value from worse. I bet $125, V calls.
River ($560) Tx7

Flush draws brick out. Can I bet this river for value? Would obviously be a bet/fold but it looks pretty thin. Would be value targeting like A
J
, K
J
etc. I guess maybe 99 also if V was super station.
Anyways I check with the intention of folding to a shove and snapping off most smaller bets, and V checks back. He shows QQ and MHIG.
Questions:
1. Would you consider checking the flop with the intention of making a big check raise? Or is the risk of it checking through too great?
2. Anyone betting this river? If yes, what is your sizing and are you bet/folding?
Happy New Year!
