AA in BB $2/3 NL

Villain is 60+ years old and is playing a lot of pots. The table does not 3-bet much pre-flop. Villain previously showed down 62 from MP on a 622 flop after calling $20 PF, calling flop, calling turn and AI river. He also folded an AJ face up on a AT57 board after Hero went all-in with 64 and was called by QJ (Hero won on the river)

Hero has been playing TAG, but has had good starting cards and raising and 3 betting pre-flop more than normal.

Hero ($400) is BB with AA
Villain ($400) is Button
3 limpers, Villain raises to $20, SB folds, Hero raises to $75, folds to Villain who quickly calls.

Flop ($156)
T87
Hero bets $80, Villain quickly shoves for $245 more

Hero?

You have to be confident villain never has a draw or worse hand here to fold. Yes sometimes you are already drawing nearly dead against J9/sets but once you start putting AhXh and KK and T9 in villain's range you are priced in.

SPR is less then 3 and the flop isn't terrible, get your money in.

Re: AA in BB $2/3 NL

I'm snap calling, this reeks of AKhh, AQhh, AJhh. It is important to ask, how often does he limp compared to RFI? If he limp/calls a lot then it's a slam dunk call, since he'd likely limp/call 77, 88, and J9. Either way I'm snap calling this, if he has TT then GG NH, but he might even trap TT and he could play KK and QQ like this trying to deny equity from flushdraws.

Re: AA in BB $2/3 NL

If I knew V i could fold but I don't so call and prey he has JJ-KK.

I also bet very small like 30 to 40 percent in 3 bet pots
It makes my bluffs much cheaper and easier to get away vs nits

Re: AA in BB $2/3 NL

Given the prior Villain hands and the SPR on the flop, I can't fold unless he literally shows me the set/straight.

not on this board though.

c/r allin is much better imo, and if you bet, bomb it.

Re: AA in BB $2/3 NL

Despite a loose range for calling raises, his 3b calling range has to be tighter. That said, there should be plenty of FDs in that range, JJ+, as well as pair/draw combos.

I'd call pretty quickly. Would have gone like $110+ given V descript.

Nh.

You shouldnt be betting 30-40% on boards that arent good for your range

Youre betting a polarized range. You want to get value from your value hands and folds from your bluffing hands (more FE) esp oop. Betting 1/3 accomplishes neither

My 3 Betting range is fishy like JJ+, AK

I thought I could bet almost 100 percent of flops with that range. Is this wrong? please and thank you

On this board texture being capped at overpairs isn't the strongest range when villain can easily have straights, 2ps, and all the sets.

If we're betting this flop on this SPR in a 3b pot we should be going quite large.

Why do you think you can bet 100% of flops on T87hh? Your opponent has all combos of sets; a bunch of combo/straight draws/FDs, and JJ/WQ. Bluffing here is suicidal.

Your 3b range is fine from the BB vs a big BTN iso raise in a vacuum, but your opponent will call a lot vs your AK cbets or even raise so i def wouldnt bet AK at 100% frequency

I play vs bad players and have a range advantage when I 3!

I would bet small so I can get away with betting AK on that board

The more I think about it what would fold if i bet with AK?
7's thru Q's isn't folding and set's might raise

Thank you Minatorr this is clearly a leak in my game that I need to think about

You can't fold. Not at these stacks.

The hand is pretty good as played. Maybe a little bit bigger on the flop since he's going to be inelastic on this board.

What's funny is that $200 is the MAX buy-in at this casino for the 2/3 NL.

Sadly I wouldn't play this game but that's just me. I hate playing less than 100 BB.

Re: AA in BB $2/3 NL

Result

Hero snapped called. Villain showed T T.

Was just second-guessing and wondering if a fold should have been considered.
