NL 1/2
Hero is in for 200 and at 445. It's been a good few hours. The game has gotten wilder and gambly. Villain is a 50 yo Russian with 1200 in his stack. He's about a 60 VPIP with 30 pre-flop agg. He has a Seven Stars card which suggests he gambles all over the casino. He loves to bluff and thinks Hero is a small time loser. This view is shared by countless others in Chicago poker and also on this forum. Villain is UTG+1 and makes it 15. There are three callers when it gets to Hero in the BB who has A4. Hero completes. SB folds.
POT 76
Flop A68
It checks around.
Turn 10
Hero leads out for $50. I picked up a flush draw and I think my ace may be good.
Villain then reraises Hero to $275. The other three callers fold.
Hero????????

I say fold to this sizing. You need 36% equity to call 225/(225+275+50+76) or 225/626. And you have no implied odds. Plus You have a bunch of made hands that get to pile here.

check ott imo with SDV and a card that you'll get raised on a lot , e.g. 1010/97/turned two pairs. plus you aren't getting two streets here so....... think checking turn is the better option than betting turn and going blindly OOP with turn action and mostly blind otr.

I think by betting on the turn was a mistake I probably should have tried to take any free equity there.

fold pre? A4s is pretty tough to play OOP vs multiple opponents esp in a raised pot

It's a chance to make the stone cold nuts which is why I (think) suited aces play well in those pots.

With your image that you said was small time loser which probably translates to scared money up against a 7 star whale... I'm jamming whatever you have left in your stack and feeling great about it.

If he had an A he likely punishes you on the flop. Your check on the flop was excellent. And your turn bet induced the polarized raise. Against this player's range I'm all in. And we do have nut equity if behind.

+1

I'm not giving an agro whale much credit here. He has tons of draws and likely bets all his good A OTF. Heck, he probably bets his good draws OTF.

He has soo many worse draws here that folding is a mistake but calling leaves your vulnerable to folding the best hand on the river.

Jam it in and don't be surprised if he calls with a draw.

Check turn as has already been mentioned.

V can raise JJ or 99 in addition to all his combos etc. But the main question is: could V slow play a set on this flop? Multi-way it seems unlikely. Now if he binked a set on the turn I suppose it’s a cooler.

I’m calling but I ain’t thrilled.

No, I meant I just stick to 1/2. He plays 5/10 sometimes.

I will definitely check the turn as advised in the future. I agree it seemed very unlikely that he had an ace. I see him a lot but just don't play with him too. much.

I fold and he shows 9/3 of clubs. I honestly had no idea I could be that far ahead. It was stunning. Deep stack poker play is something I'm struggling with now.

Wow so sick, I was on the fence between folding and jamming. Don't rly think we can call here and we want to get value from his turned draws, LOL at bare gutshot though 5-way
