Hi all,

1/2 MD Live Casino. V1 is older Indian guy dressed quite spiffy drinking black label. Seems like he has money, bets pretty aggressively. HH: limped pot, I am BTN with K6hh, river puts third heart including Ah, V bets $60 into $80, another V flats, I go AI, V says he didn't see flush get there, said had two pair, and folds (I double up versus Q8hh). V2 is young WG, short stacked. I have $420, V1 covers, V2 $45.

I am UTG+1, dealt A10dd. V2 limps, V1 UTG+2 raises to $15 out of turn, then takes it back once he notices I have not acted. I then raise to $10 to see if he'll 3-bet. V1 just flats. V2 flats as well. Pot $33.

Flop: 8d-6d-2s. V2 goes AI for $30, I call, V1 calls. Pot $96.

Turn: Ah. I check, V1 bets $50. I call. Pot $196.

River: 3s. I check, V2 bets $60. Hero? I missed my flush but have top pair with a decent kicker. Am I out kicked here a lot of the time or is this an easy call give the odds we're getting?

Thanks,
DT

Your math looks a little off:

Pot is $33 otf, V1 ai $30+$30+$30=$123. ott V2 $50+$50+$123=$223. otr V2 $60+$223+$60=$343. 60/343=17.5%

Now, how do you range him? If he has a clue, and was ready to make it $15 from ep over utg limp, he shouldn't be value betting river with too much worse than this (discounting AA, AKs cuz no 3!)

Board: 8d6d2sAh3s
Equity Win Tie
UTG+1 9.38% 6.25% 3.13% { AdTd }
UTG+2 90.63% 87.50% 3.13% { 88, 66, AQs-A9s, AJo+ }

Maybe he has A8 or 22 but that only hurts our hopes for a call being +ev.
Even with the good price we're getting, I don't think we are winning often enough here. Plus sizing is just begging for a call.
Tough to fold, but I think we're supposed to.

ETA:
This is with ATo+. Makes it a bit closer, but still ugly.

Board: 8d6d2sAh3s
Equity Win Tie
UTG+1 13.89% 5.56% 8.33% { AdTd }
UTG+2 86.11% 77.78% 8.33% { 88, 66, AQs-A9s, ATo+ }

^so V2 goes AI on the flop, hero overcalls, and you think V is calling with every Ax in his range?

Honestly, no; but I wouldn't be surprised to see AK, AQ. My point is this is the widest range I can come up with, and removing his good A high hands only makes this more of a fold.

IKD, maybe he is spazzing out, but most Vs aren't bluffing into a dry side pot.

I guess I might have raised the flop to try and get it HU with AI but I can see calling there.

AP I think you have to fold. V got interested and took the lead when the A hit and started a side pot, didn't slow down when you checked the river again.

I folded, V showed 10-10 for a pair for 10s and took down the pot.

You mentioned V bet aggressively so I had a feeling he could be doing this with hands like 99-JJ since he would view your check on the turn as weakness. I also didn’t see V having hardly any A’s in his range once he called the flop. 99-JJ also made sense as you mentioned V raised PF out of turn. Once you raised PF hands
like 99-JJ would probably just call instead of 3b, which is what he did.

I actually thought he had JJ and was trying to bet thinly and get 99 or TT to call. I just couldn’t see an aggressive V betting so small on the turn and river with an A.

I also consider raising flop to get HU.

AP, I call river because the bet is tiny and I seen so many ******ed river stabs in my time that I now just call it off barring reads or terrible boards.

Fold pre after villain tries to raise OOT, or limp. Raising when you know someone behind you is going to raise is pretty terrible, or is OOT action not binding where you play?

I don't like A10 up front at all even it's suited and I hate a reraise with it at 1/2. They will call you with AK and they'll always call a single raise with AQ and AJ. I would fold pre I think that's the biggest issue.
