Yep, this. Since we raised preflop from early position, villains aren't giving us credit for A3 or 22. When you call here, villains with smaller pocket pairs and broadway flush draws are going to think they have fold equity.
I like a raise/fold here, to $225. Raising in this spot signals that I'm ready to gii with my premium pocket pair here. I expect 1010 and JJ to tank hard and usually fold. Same with non-nut flush draws Q10/J10/QJ, all of which have strong equity.
If we're calling in this spot, it should be to induce a bluff-raise that we'll call. With QQ/KK I'd consider that line, but there are just too many semi-bluff hands with 12-15 outs against pocket 9s here. Since I don't particularly want to play for stacks with this medium pair (might be profitable, but HUGE variance), I think raise>fold>call in this spot.
Bonus: the times when we raise and force out 1010/JJ are going to be great for our image and will sometimes tilt the players who folded the winner.
