Flopped the joint. Then sh*t got weird. Flopped the joint. Then sh*t got weird.

Just sat down at the 1/2 $200 capped buyin table at Jack Casino Cincinnati.

Villain 1... Golf hat. 30 years old. Not drinking. $300 stack.

Villain 2... 50 year old. Drinking. Chips arranged in very strange manner. Intentionally dirty stacks. Stacks of only 10 high.

OTTH....

Limped by Villain 1 (UTG) and MP.
Villain 2 in SB completes.
Hero in BB with 5D8D checks option.

Flop ($10)

6 7 9

SB checks.
Hero bets $7
Villain 1 calls. MP folds. Villain 2 calls.

Turn ($31)
7

Villain 1 bets $25.
Hero is cutting out a call and Villain 2 raises to $75 out of turn. At this venue, his bet is binding when it is his action.

Hero????

It looks like you switched the names on the villains 1 & 2. So which guy raises out of turn - the drinking dirty stacks or the sober golf hat?

This seems like a fold (though a gross one), as you don't even have the nut straight and two players are chomping at the bit after apparently slowplaying the flop.

Assuming you can immediately rebuy, I don't mind calling the $25, letting V2's $75 bet stand, then jamming after V1 calls. If V1 jams before us, I'll evaluate, but would still lean towards a call. We're losing to full boats and 810 here. We're beating flush draws, overpairs, and trip 7s. We don't have enough info on either villain to construct solid ranges for them. But this would qualify as a big fold, and I don't think we should be making big folds on wet boards against completely-unknown-but-pretty-touristy 1/2 opponents.

I think the times when you're up against an overpair and trip 7s more than make up for the times when you're up against 810 or 67.

Sorry. UTG is the dirty stack guy that raises out of turn.

nice leadout. you have to start building a pot, and that small sizing invites all of the ugly calls that you might get.

turn, ignoring V2's bet out of turn, you need to be raising the donk of 25. as super wet as that board is, you can't let one of your V's take control of the hand and name their price for the river card.

when he donks 25, YOU need to be making it 75.

But as played, when V2 acts out of turn and makes it 75, go ahead and check and let him make his raise to 75. If V1 calls, he most likely has a 7. Shove over the top of V1 since V2 does not have a lot of boats in his range. if V1 folds, he was just on a heart draw and was trying to name his price and the likelyhood of V2 being boated here is much higher. I would lean towards a fold, but calling is not horribad.

I'd just flat the raise on the turn. We're still likely ahead. A FD should be much less interested in the pot with the board pairing and all this action. Unless another 7 comes, we can shove the river and get calls from trips and even some over pairs. It is going to be less than a 1/2 pot bet.

FDs have about the same equity 1v1 against us as trip 7s so I think folding them off their 20% equity is a pretty good result. Or maybe you are saying the raiser shouldn't have a FD here?

Another heart / board pair/ 4-liner will kill our action if we are ahead and we likely aren't getting away from the hand on most rivers.

Because of all that I'd lean toward getting it in on the turn.

Then maybe I'd be a little more willing to get it in against that player, as it seems like I have come down on the conservative side of the opinions. I guess you can call the $25, observe the $75 raise and see how Golf Hat reacts.

For those who advocate calling both the bet and raise, how do we react if Golf Hat either jams the turn or calls and donks the river?
