If CO is straightforward ABC non-tricky non-bluffy postflop, then I don't hate the idea of a raise preflop. But otherwise, and mostly, I just check and see a flop. A decent CO likely open limped for a reason, one of those reasons being to see a flop in position, and if he calls that'll bring along SB ("if you hadda called I woulda called", amirite?). So now we're building a bloated pot OOP with possibly an ok player behind us and we're going to hate quite a lotta flops. But the more I play, the more I'm all about position, and less about ekeing out some "value" (whatever that means) with hands preflop unless against easy peasy face up players.
I'm fine with our flop bet. Obviously drawy flop so there are arguments to size up for value, but I think a more important goal is pot control and not blowing up this pot, so I'm fine with the smaller sizing.
Turn is the nut low card as both the flush draw and the OESD got there. I check/fold, and if I can't do that comfortably that means I'm less fine with preflop.
I don't get to the river but I check/fold. Very few remaining bluffs in his range here (65, we block some 96).
Overall, I think we built way too big a pot OOP with a hand that was likely to remain very mediocre (by the river it's 3rd pair on a flush/straighty board) to someone we obviously don't think is too face up if we're considering calling a river bet.
