Table just started 10-15 hands ago.
1/2 game, 3pm Thursday afternoon
It was 4 handed to start, and I raised the first 4 hands. Folded a few since then. Table has grown to 8 players and I will be tightening up, but obviously villain doesn't know this. He seems decent.

Villain: 25ish decent player. Agressive, but mostly with quality hands. Doesn't raise too often pre from what I've seen in previous sessions. (Maybe 88+ AT+ KJ+ wider in position.)

Hero has $175, villain covers

Pre:
Random ($225) UTG makes it 5 straight
3 call
Hero calls OTB with 78
SB calls
Villain in the BB calls

Flop: ($35) 852
SB checks
Villain donks $15
everyone folds to hero
Hero?

I don't know a whole lot about his post flop tendencies, as I haven't played with him a whole. For most people here, I give them a range of straight draws / flush draws / flopped sets. Should we call, raise or fold? If we raise, how much?

For an aggressive player to donk smallish out of the BB looks very price setting, so I would put a lot of flush and straight draws in his range. 8X is mostly either going to check or bet bigger. Mostly I'm calling here and hoping for turn to either improve equity or for villain to check. Folding top pair here with no other signs of action is too weak, but raising is too aggressive when villain could have all kinds of hands.

If the turn is a brick and villain bets again, I fold unless villain really under bets. If villain checks then I mix bets and checks. If turn improves hero's equity by adding a flush/straight draw then hero can call a bet or bet if villain checks. If turn is a diamond or completes the 76 straight draw then I'm trying to get to showdown cheaply and giving up to a bet. 6 is a weird card here because it completes the 43 straight but gives hero a draw to a better one. If villain checks I take the free card but hero can call a small bet.

Easy call looking for good turn cards.
Spades or straight draw

I can't imagine a good player doing that without a good hand. I he did it with a draw, then he's not a good player.

You need to be asking yourself here what your intent with this hand. With this sort of hand, you are hoping to really flop some sort of huge combo draw. When I call with a hand like this, I really don't want to see a 7 or an 8 on the board.

That being said, this is a snap-call. There are a ton of cards on the turn that can improve your hand. Plus V bet kind of smallish, he is probably going to slow down if the turn card is not good for him.

Don't think about raising. You will force your opponent into playing perfectly.
