Was 70% too big a bet? Was 70% too big a bet?

LIVE CASH game.
$1/$2 NL
V1 is TAG. Small stack.
V2 is TAG. Big stack.
Hero is medium stack.

Hero gets 77 in MP
Limps for $10.
Pot is $30
Flop = 4h 9h 7c
V1 checks. Hero bets $20. V2 calls.
Pot is $70
Turn = 4h 9h 7c Jd
Hero bets $50.
V2 folds.

Did I bet too much?
I usually get 50%, this time I tried betting 70%

Is this where I need to learn the concept of
"Only getting calls that beat you" ?

Like what would beat me?
What could V2 have had that would not beat me and get a fold?

Grunch.

Er... "big stack", "small stack" and "medium stack" is sort of meaningless info for us. We need dollar amounts or BB amounts. You also say you limp for $10 in a 1/2 game which doesn't make any sense. FWIW I think you played the hand fine post flop bet sizing wise.

OP, please read the stickies, ESP about how to post a hand. You can't limp for 10 in a 1/2 game, for example. Actual stack sizes matter too. That said, bet size is fine.

I would bet bigger on 2 suited boards, closer to pot especially against 2 players but turn bet sizing is fine.
