As I mentioned in my OP, I have found in my games the exact opposite: I'm frequently getting my 3-bets called.

You never faced an opponent who had a really wide 3-betting range and decided to 3-bet them at least a little lighter? So you wouldn't even 3-bet them with AQ?

Are there smart players who fold to 3! yes. But the majority of players at 1/2 1/3 are playing their own cards and want to see flops.
If they check dark they almost always snap fold to my bets. Those are just from my experiences but I love it when people dark check because it feels like they are trying to give me the green light to bluff them out of the pot.

That's actually fine if they consistently fold to a c-bet on the flop. I don't know about your games but in my games they call a lot PF, and then fold almost every time on the flop to a c-bet. I've been thinking that I should probably 3-bet more often.

If I'm in a game where other players like to open for $7 or $8 then I usually like to 3 bet with AQ and 99 and maybe AJs. I think when you see a raise to $8 after 2-3 limpers, that expanded range is almost always going to be the best hand.
