Hi,

Played in a friends homegame blinds 0.50c/0.50c (8max). Played super tight because every pot was being raised to $5 preflop, with everyone calling, and we could only BI for $50.

I was in the HJ and was dealt JJ. Stacks $70 effective.

PREFLOP
HJ: HERO raise to $9.
BTN: calls. (I put him on the better broadways/pps).

FLOP ($19)
TT4
HJ: HERO bet $12.
BTN: calls. (I put him on any PP, Ax, Tx and maybe just overs but not his entire range of broadways).

TURN ($43)
TT49
HJ: HERO checks (he bets any pair and bluffs his air. My plan is to x/r.)
BTN: checks. (In retrospect I think I should have bet.)

RIVER ($43)
TT49 A
HJ: HERO checks.
BTN: Bets $17.

What do I do here? At the start of the hand he says, "I put you on AQ or something similar" and he continues to talk throughout the hand as though he's trying to help me out and save my money. I took this to mean he was weak but on the river I was worried about the Ace as it's a decent portion of his range that calls flop I thought. I also notice some people say "I put you on xx" because it's what they hold in their hand.

In retrospect ya. Just bet. You could shove and it would be an OK small overbet. Or you could plan your bets out a little better before hand.
