Sunday evening 5-5 10handed. It's a great game: deep stacks and multiple whales at the table, and the alcohol is flowing. Some people were on a smoke break, so the game is effectively 7 handed during this hand.
There are a lot of in-game dynamics going on in this hand, which i've tried to incorporate in the post, as well as some live reads.
Hero: 30something WG, trying to play TAG, but kinda carddead so not very active. Stack 2.4k.
V1: Older gentleman, not an OMC at all, plays 40-50% hands pre, but very fit or fold/conservative post. He b/f KK on the river to an allin on a dry 9 high board earlier. He also didn't valuebet A8 on 84538r board on the river when checked to after calling twice in position. Stack 1k.
V2: 30ish pro-ish reg who i have extensive history with. Playing LAG/TAG but he is a bit hamstrung by the whales to his direct left. He actually got scolded earlier by another reg for 3betting and thus folding out the whale behind him, which might factor into his decision making here. Stack covers.
V3: prototypical whale, only folds pre to go on bathroom or smoking breaks, will bet almost always when checked to, will float with completely random hands, never folds a pair but might turn it into a bluff later on. Has yet to 3bet until this hand. Stack 2k.
OTTH:
Preflop:
Hero opens 55 UTG to 20.
V1/UTG1 calls.
MP calls.
V2/CO calls.
V3/BTN 3bets and makes it 90.
blinds fold.
Hero, V1 and V2 call, MP folds.
Flop (390):
853r
Everybody checks to V3 who bets 170.
Hero raises to 400.
V1 tank calls.
V2 takes ~20 seconds and calls.
V3 looks at me and says: "you MUST have 88" and calls. (He got a warning from the dealer for talking multiway
.)
Turn (2k):
853 6
completes rainbow board
Hero checks.
V1 insta jams for 500.
V2 tankcalls, while looking fairly uncomfortable.
V3 folds.
(Should i call, V2 and i still have another 1400 behind)
Hero....?
Overall i'm not particularly happy about how i played it, so feel free to flame away. Although positive criticism and feedback would also be appreciated
.
