I played a weird session last night where there were like 20+ sets over the whole night. I personally made 5 sets, two of which seen below. In the mean time two Asian tourists basically made the nuts every hand and cleaned up the table, frustrating all the regs.

These two hands occured later on in the evening, after the tourists left and the game was shorthanded with everyone remaining being stuck 2k+. Fun times .

Villain is a 22yo student/futures trader who i consider a bit of a bad reg. Tends to overplay his medium/strong hands, stabs a bit too much and call too wide with marginal hands. I've played a bunch with him, friendly guy, we've been needling each other all session long.
HH: early on in the session he stacked me in a 2.5k pot with 33 vs my 22 on a Th3h2 flop. In a more recent hand he called 2 barrels with KQ high on a T3455 board and beat my 8 high for a 400ish pot

Hand 1, 6handed, 1600 effective:
Villain opens 20 from the CO,
Hero 3bets to 80 from the SB with QdQs,
Villain calls.

Flop (165):
Q45

Hero checks, V bets 120, Hero calls.

Turn: (405)
Q45 A

Hero leads 220, villain folds.

Hand #2, straddled pot, 5 handed, 2k effective:
Villain opens to 30 on the BTN.
Hero calls with 22 from the SB,
Straddle calls also.

Flop (95):
J82r

Check, check, villain bets 70. Hero calls, straddle folds.

Turn (235):
J82 6 badugi

Hero checks, villain bets 130, Hero raises to 400.
Villain thinks 5-10 seconds and calls

River (1035):
J826 6

Hero bets 750, villain tanks and calls.

As always, any feedback and comments on any part of the hands are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Really hate the turn donk bet in hand 1. First of all, we miss out completely on the times villain tries to bluff with little to no equity. This is a great spot for him to get aggressive, as we may be holding hands like 77-JJ or QJs/KQ that can't stand 2 more streets of pressure. Don't take that opportunity away from him! We also don't gain from many hands when we do this. Only from weak Ax that may ck back at some point, or Qx that will ck back. Qx is a small portion of his range due to our removal, and we're probably more likely to win a bet from Qx on the river, than on the turn.

If I was somehow forced into donkbetting, I'd choose a small size like ~150 to give V room to call/float light or get aggressive on us. But it's just a really goofy line, in that you're representing pretty strong hands after taking a weaker looking x/c play on the flop. But, I'm checking all my hands on this turn after check/calling flop

Hand 2 looks good. Depending on BB/straddle the preflop play may be debatable, but given what you've said of BTN, seems like a decent set mine spot.

Hand 1 once we check flop I would have checked that turn card too. He's bluffing or semi bluffing a lot here, so allowing him to continue to do so with the A falling would have been better IMO. Your bet folds out a lot of his range.

Hand 2, I would have raised ever so slightly smaller OTT as played. But overall fine. I probably check/min-raise fairly often OTF against this player. But if he's barreling a lot, reliably, then your line may be superior.

Once he calls the 3x OTT bombing river is good. Well played.

Hand 1 -

I think a bet flop, check Ace turn is a better line. Xt would have had a better chance of inducing a bluff from V, since our hand looks like KQ, KK, JJ, etc.

OTF, I always default to betting unless V is a rare total maniac who will spew off 3 streets with air. More likely, we are OOP and V will give up his bluffs turn or river, OR he actually has a hand and a scary runout prevents us from maxing value.

Hand two I would just call the turn with bottom set and check/raise river, given he tends to overplay his medium strength hands I expect him to continue betting turn and river with most top pairs and anything better than top pair. As played, we should just jam the river, with a turn check/raise our range is polarized and the 6 is a great card to jam because he'll probably just sigh/call with his overpairs even though our range is so nutted

Agree that turn lead on hand 1 is awful

Hand 2 is fine, on this dry a board our line looks really strong but worked ok this time

Same as everyone else the turn donk bet seems terrible. Otherwise seemes pretty straight forward.

Hand 1, c bet flop for sure. I would be betting turn too with any card other than an Ace, unless I was certain villain would stab at the turn if checked to, in which case I'd be check raising - we have top set and we want to get their stack here if possible

Hand 2, well played

You probably shouldn't have included the "villain calls/folds" in both hands. I feel this leads to some biased responses.
