$800 eff.

V is a decent rec that sometimes plays tourneys. Good/lucky enough to have won a satellite entry into the WSOP. She recently just sat down, but we've played together a previous night for about 1 hour. I think she recognizes that I'm decent... or at the very least not a fish.

I open KK for $20 in EP. V $60, folds back to me & I make it an even $200 and get flatted.

Pot ~$400

We check down all 3 streets on a

AT7 6 2 run-out.

Anyone do anything different? I'm assuming her 4bet flatting range IP is QQ+/AK. Obviously AA can be discounted, though she might be the type to flat it and play it out given 1.5 SPR. Maybe some AKo combos fold out & obviously we block some of those as well as KK, so after the turn check, her range is weighed heavily towards QQ. What I'm wondering is if anyone fires out at some point simply to decrease the likelihood of us being bluffed out, or if the line is fine.

I would definitely check the flop, probably check the turn, and definitely value bet the river. I'm not worried about getting bluffed at all by v as described, we can play our hand pretty face up. But even against players who are capable of bluffing - I would rather pot control and bluff catch by check/calling one or two streets instead of bloating the pot ourselves.

I actually thought about river value. I figured anything over ~ 1/3 pot would fold out anything worse. I actually thought V might play back @ something tiny though... but in retrospect I can see why a thinking opponent would rarely have a bluffing range facing a bet OTR.

What sizing would you recommend as played?

I agree with you about small sizing. I bet 155 and hope she sigh calls.

Depends on how aggro she is though, because she could easily raise the river on you since your hand is pretty face up and she can still rep AK and you can't. Not saying she will but it's something my dumba$$ might try.

I think it's odd to be willing to go to the felt PF, but then go into pot control mode when an ace flops. Obv. we don't want to donk off our stack, but it seems like we need to play our hand at some point.

KK blocks AK pretty well.

I guess the problem here is that our range is so narrow and nutted that we're only getting thin value. And yet it seems incorrect to give 2 free cards.

Play KK here the same way we play AT suited?
