K9s isnt a good hand to raise UTG. Stack size leaves little room to maneuver. OP and everyone else knows this. But winning money in poker means making a profit where others lose money.

You can fold this 100% of the time if you want to and no one can tell you youre wrong but raisibg it just enough of the time to rob equity from the table isnt wrong either.

There isnt a single poster in here who doesnt know its a -ev raise so why beat a dead horse?

Im certainly not folding this hand 100% so i could be in thw same spot one day

I know a number of good/professional 2/5 players that raise UTG with as little as K2s, but they play with a 1k stack. I don't know that you can do it with only 430 and make it substantially profitable due to the lack of threat you present with a relatively normal sized stack.

As played, you are at best now a bluff catcher if your opponents decide to play around with a flush draw. It's up to you and your reads now - is an opponent with something along the lines of KT or KJ calling your flop bet and hoping to draw more bets out of you in the hopes you're bluffing or behind? Would your opponents have likely raised with a flush draw or are they passive? With a mystery behind you, it might be time to check/eval leaning towards a fold.

Also I believe people post situations they're not great at so you're seeing their worst leaks. You yourself may not have that specific leak but we should not judge them on their one hand. If everyone were trying to prove they were good, this forum would quickly devolve into a circle jerk of brags and bad beats.

I'm not trying to justify myself in this hand. I played poorly in this spot which is why I asked for everyone's help. But I just want to make a point that we should be more focused on helping others in this forum on fixing their leaks instead of judging them based on one hand. This is less about protecting any one person's ego as it is about not discouraging open discussion on this forum and keeping it great.

Sorry for the rant

Ppl are trying to help. They r giving all sorts of good info disguised as almost trolling. It's just the 2+2 way. Like a parent scolding a child they are just trying to get there point across as loudly as possible.

Also even against one other oppo ur hand has serious problems OOP. Theres just no potential other then getting to win the pot without rolling ur hand over. Anytime it gets to showdown ur gonna be a big dog, especially if there was action throughout the hand.

And their advice would def fix ur leaks if u employed it. There's a reason why u don't see Dnegs or Ivey playing UTG suited gappers with short stacks and they're the most comfortable poker players in the world IMO.
