I feel kind of guilty since I get so much out of 2+2 , but have never contributed. So to start the new year off right, I’m posting my first hand.
Floor opens new 5/5 game with $1K max buy-in. Have been at the table for about 30 min and have been getting way more than my share of raising starting hands. Therefore, I’m pretty sure the table sees me as a LAG. V1 has limped/called a few times, have not seen him raise pre flop yet. V2 has flatted a few raises, including mine, but hasn’t gone past the flop. Never played with either player prior to this. OTTH:
V1 checks, H bets $75, V2 jams for $95, V1 calls, H calls $20 more.
Pretty wet board, definitely K’s and drawing hands will call. Though about full pot bet, but settled on $75.
Turn: Qd ($383)
V1 checks, H bets $300. V1 tanks for a minute and calls. J 10 hits but still am ahead of most hands. Initially thought about the overbet Jam for $615, but quickly dismissed.
Flop should be $55-65 imo. Turn, no more than $275. I think I'd go ~$250. Seems like we're targeting just the top of V's range/denying equity, which polarizes us & nuts V more than needed. Most straights, especially those w/out club blockers raise turn fearing a club runout so there's another reason we can go a bit less I think. Since we've dumped so much into the pot, we can't fold given the price at the river.
As for the flop, I didn’t even think about sizing my bet to $45 to come over the top of V2’s jam. I wish I would have taken some time to think about it.
As for the turn, I can see merit for betting a little smaller to include more of V1s range, but I don’t know if shoving is the right play. I think I fold out almost all of V1s draws and really only get called by the nuts

After cursing my bad luck, I do some really bad quick math in my head and think I’m only getting just over 3 to 1 on a call (its actually just over 4 to 1). I take only about 30 seconds and don’t think I’m good that often against 2 people. That combined with the fact that V1 jammed into a somewhat protected pot, I fold.
V1 tables Qc 10c for 2 pair and takes the side pot. V2 tables Kh 10h and takes the main.
I can’t believe I didn’t call. Oh and this happened at the Bike.
Preflop: I like it. Flop: I'd strongly consider betting $45 here just so that the action is back on us if the shorty jams. But otherwise, $75 is okay. Turn: I like it. Good sizing. River: If villain jammed instantly then I'm calling. If he tanked for a few seconds before jamming then it's a much closer spot, but I still probably call because he has a lot of 2pr combos here. In general, you'll find that people tend to overbluff 4 straight boards, so I'll often hero call sets and 2pr in these situations.
As others have said size down otf. Folding river is probably fine against a solid opponent, obviously after seeing results this guy is certainly not solid.
P.s What a ****in phenomenal 5/5 game you're playing in
After playing with the 2 villains for the next 4 hours, I definitely agree with everyone that I should have called the river. Even without prior knowledge of villains, I believe I should have called. Like others have said, too many combos to bluff with.
And yes...not difficult at all to find a great 5/5 game at the Bike. Especially on the weekends
I'm betting $400 on the turn - an over bet is fine in this spot where half the deck on the river is going to be ugly. If he has the magic JT or a higher set - i'm fine with going broke here. Just unlucky
