1/2 NL with a straddle almost every hand. Most players care more about their sports bets than they do about the poker hand. Others are waiting for a 2/5 game to open. Some players have been complaining about the beats they took during the week but see 40% of flops. Almost every hand is 5 ways to the flop despite massive over betting. There are big swings in this game. OTTH...

8 handed table, 100 BB effective, Hero with $270 and has tight image

Preflop: there is an UTG straddle for $4, Hero is in MP and looks down at AQ and raises to $16. CO, Button, BB, and straddle call.

Flop: (pot is $72) AT6 Hero c-bets for $40, cut off and button call the $40. Other 2 players fold.

Turn: (pot is $190) 9 Hero is 1st to act. How do we proceed?

Effective stack is $200 before the hand starts? I think you just have to rip it in there given the pot size and the amount left behind.

Way more pre. Given your description of table I'd go 30.

More flop given table, probably 60.

As played just shove now.

Shove turn. Bet more on flop.

Am I raising pre $30 with every hand that there is a straddle?

Bigger pre if they're that loose and not caring about money. Then when the flop hits it is a bet flop jam turn mode.

I think my stack was the right size to do that if I adjust the bet amounts. $30 pre, 2/3-3/4th bet on flop, jam turn.

More pre; more flop; jam turn.

If you lose, then reload.

Clearly it depends.

As a default, if I was brand new not seen any other action, I would raise to 10 in a 1/2 game, and I would raise to 20 with a straddle, and adjust up or down as I got more info. In this case you said everyone is calling big raises so 7.5 * The straddle doesn't seem unreasonable.

Seems reasonable but that's post-facto reasoning, we don't know how many callers we will get so can't know the bet/pot ratio.
