Re: 5/5 2 pair limped pot

Preflop: Checking is good.

Flop: Bet $20.

You got as good a flop as you could hope for, so get some value out of it by betting. Even though a free card isn't all that scary for you, having it get checked through is missed +EV and when you lead out on the turn you are still representing strength.

As played, after the bet, call with the intention of leading the turn.

Assuming your opponents aren't complete ATMs, when you check/raise on this flop against two opponents the only hands that will give you action are either A) better than yours, or less likely B) floats that can credibly represent hands better than yours. Calling and leading for 1/2 pot on any turn card other than a 4 will make you more when you are ahead and save you money when you are behind.

Turn: As played, betting about 1/2 pot is good.

River: Check/fold.

Your hand just got crushed. When you get called on the turn your opponent likely either has you beat or has gotten sticky with top pair. Now you're behind to both of those. There's a (small) chance your opponent is running an elaborate multi-street bluff or has something like 53, but not enough chance to justify calling off your stack with.

Just my opinion...

Bet the flop. Your hand isn't strong enough to slow play. If everyone folds, there was no money to be made.

Re: 5/5 2 pair limped pot

Pre: No-brainer check
Flop: I lead for Pot, but don't hate a check/raise if we're pretty sure someone will bet. Also raise should be bigger (50-60)
Turn: Fine (shouldn't change much)
River: Easy peasy fold on the river with the counterfeiting. It's likely hhe has a made hand. Do we think he's leading into 4 on the flop with just a draw or a bluff. It's gotta be top pair or better, and now nearly every single King beats you. The best you could really hope for is K4 and a split pot. If it's a naked bluff with something like 53 so be it.

Yall r right to point out that I now lose to KX (AK, KJ, KT.... etc)

The thing is that HE WOULD CHECK BACK THE RIVER WITH THOSE HANDS.

So when he bets, I no longer have to be worried about those hands...

Random person, who may be fish. Are you sure?

You checked. You're almost certainly not doing that with a set made boat now. He may well think his KT or whatever is good, and looking to get money out of you.

I think you may be overthinking this one.
