45s OESD turn bluff spot

1-2 main game. Most players are pretty deep.

Btn (190) is loose, semi passive. Only had of note he x/r top two pair then checked down to river

SB (~400)is a total donk seen him call big bets with second pair
BB (600+) older guy. Not much raising

Hero (400) TAG image, chatty.

Felt to hero 45hh

Btn straddle $5, sb call, Bb call, hero raises to $20, btn calls blinds call

Flop Ac 6c 3h

Checks to hero, bets $45 btn calls

Turn Qc

Hero shoves for $120 ef

Btn range is super wide here given his straddle call.

Re: 45s OESD turn bluff spot

Not sure what your position is, but mostly fold pre. If you are opening this hand, your sizing is too small. With a BTN straddle and 2 calls in front of you, making it $20 with 54s is going to leave you going very multi-way like what happened here, and that's lighting money on fire with 5 high.

OTF, the c-bet is okay I suppose, but still risky c-betting into 3 players. You flopped open ended on an A high board, and you should have more Ax in your range than your Vs, but if you get any calls I'd proceed with caution unless you hit your hand.

OTT, I hate the spot you're now in against the short stack V OTB. The pots about $170, he has $120 behind, and I don't think you're going to generate many folds in the long run from this sized stack once he calls on an A high draw heavy flop. So you're now getting stacks in with 5 high and a naked open ender with one card to come. You're not getting the right price to call it off either if you decide to check and get jammed on. Of the two, jamming turn is better, but I don't like at all how we got here.

I'm not saying to never raise small SCs pre, but you need to be cognizant of effective stack sizes with the BTN straddler. You said yourself that he defends his straddle wide, so when you open a hand like 54s you have to realize that you're quite often going to be playing a low SPR hand against him, thus making this type of hand much less appealing.

Branch0095 says it pretty well (but I don’t think OP does actually say that straddler routinely defends straddle light?)

I am fine until the turn (although I might have just limped pre....let the flaming begin).

Turn is absurd though IMO. I mean I don't mind a b/f line there I guess, but shoving seems dumb since if you are called you are drawing dead.

I think it's wp as long as you arent consistently opening 54s from MP/EP. Should mostly be folding

Given its deep overlimp is prob tenable if table is passive

We’re 80bb not 40. Btn is the only short stack.

I think V rage here is something like top 50% I have seen him fold his straddle a few times, and yes he raddled every time

I don’t normally raise this but I thought it was a good opportunity to iso the two fish in the Sb and BB

My position is HJ and CO is a nit
