5/5 $1800 eff

Villain is young Asian reg, haven’t played with before but has been fairly active, 3betting pre, goes for thin value on rivers. Seems like a competent player.

UTG villain opens to 20
Hero in UTG1 with AK 3-bet to 85
Only UTG calls

Flop (180): JT8
Villain checks, I check back

Turn (180): 3
Villain checks, I bet 100, Villain calls

River (380): A
Villain checks, I bet 135, Villain raises to 400
Hero?

I think you can make a case for folding, calling, or jamming here. IMO, it was a mistake for me to go for thin value OTR as it’s unlikely I’m getting called by many worse hands - AxQ is the only plausible combo i can think of. However, given that I have the NF blocker and villain caps his range when he checks turn, is it profitable to 3b jam river? Villain seems competent to raise/fold, and the top of his range should be KQ that rivered a straight. Calling also seems reasonable given the good pot odds, and the fact that V could be turning hands like KJx, QJx, KTx into bluffs.

Flop check is fine, we have sdv and can see cheap turns and rivers.

This is not a board we want to cbet too often, board hits his range way harder

Id much rather check back flop with AhAx than this hand.
AP, i kinda like a 3bet/shove on the river, but it would be so much better if we had bet flop.

Don't see many V's get OOL on mono flops in 3bet pots so I def like a cbet. Even if we do get raised we can easily call with deep stacks, IP, and with solid equity.

If V is a decent hand-reader then I'm not a fan of thin value here OTR, especially holding the nut bluff card.

Your Sizing OTR might complicate things further, as I think our small sizing may have induced...and we can't raise fold at this point b/c of stack sizes so it's probably just a fold.
