V is new to poker. Doesn't care about pot odds. Will play draws strongly and will not let them go. He has been hitting a lot of flushes tonight. He also has a fancy check/raise river syndrome that never worked for him. (Players against him usually check back the river and his C/R river plan fails) Villain also slows down when shown aggression. (Saw him checking back 7-high flush on the river when PF raiser kept firing away and checked the river) V has hero covered. Hero has $500.

Hero opens $20 with AKcc, one caller in MP and V calls in the BB.

FLOP ($60)

556cc

V donks out $50, hero decides to smooth call (Mistake?) not wanting the V to fold worse draws and will most likely get paid off if another club hits.

TURN ($160)

5x

V thinks for a while and checks. Hero thinks for a while before betting out $120. V C/Rs to $240. Hero?

Well, I am not sure if I am turning my hand into a bluff or wanting to build a big pot as a huge favorite.

Perhaps flatting the flop was a mistake as I would have most likely raised with an over pair on that flop. The V's C/R can't rep much right? Any mid-pp would call down. I think he would have 3 bet pre with a higher PP. I could still get A6, 67 to fold. If he has a 5 in his hand then be it.

Villain who is new to poker and you're trying to rationalize his play and get him to fold a full house. Why.

Call flop is fine, doubt we have fold equity here.
Check turn. Either he has a FD we're crushing or he's never folding.

And you can't be serious about the decision point. Min c/r from a new player on this board? Of course we fold.

Def smooth call on flop because villain usually has a 5 or at minimum overpair to flop. When fish donk out for pot sized bets, alarm bells should be going off. Kind of hard to figure out if a check/raise turn is actual quads or a 6/pp he's protecting, either way turbo muck.

Turn is such an obvious check. People don't come to the boat to fold full houses.

Never say never. It appears to have worked against you. You randomly bet after he checked.

Flop is fine to call. A new player who is bad will still pay you off with worse flushes/trips of flush comes

Turn is awful. You're never folding out better, worse may call, but it's way too thin...

Agree, the turn should be checked back.
