Not that I'm at all adamant that shoving is correct there, but I just don't see how calling is any better. IOW, if his range is so strong we can't shove here, then there's a good chance a fold is better than both.
I don’t think Hero raising the turn would be a very good example of range merging. Range merging is when it looks like your hand is polarized and you bet or raise with the intention of getting a better hand to fold or a worse hand to call. Firstly, if Hero raises the turn he pretty much never has air in his range. Secondly, if Hero raises the turn V never folds a better hand. A 1/2 V is never folding AQ, flushes, or a full house in this hand. Thirdly, a tight V in EP is never calling a turn raise with a worse hand than KQ.
