playing 1/2 nl

hero-$400-i have been playing tight, table probably views me as tight player i havent been in to many hands. i have history with the villain in where i re raised all in with a pair of aces n a flushdraw and hit my draw.

v1-$160- he is a reg, plays abc but is a decent player.

IN MY GAME YOU HAVE TO PUT 2 ON THE BTN.

I have j9o on the btn
gets limped

flop comes Jc9hAd

v1 leads out for 20 every body folds i call

turn Qs pot-54
he checks i bet 35 he calls

river 10d pot 124
check check

how should i have played this hand

Pretty standard.

If you're asking if you should've bet the river, no.

Only thingi do different is bet the turn closer to 45.

I'd probably raise/fold the flop for value. Turn played fine. As played, I'm probably going to bet the river as a bluff because there are a ton of hands we now lose to.

In regards, to the river play, yes it is like bluffing with nothing. If this wasn't a limped pot then I would say we have absolutely no showdown value and a bet would be mandatory. However, since it was limped we do have some showdown value against AX. However, I think it is less likely that villain is leading out on this board with a weak Ace.

Aside from weak aces, we lose to all other hands including QT, AQ, A9, AT, AJ, 99. T8 seems unlikely given the turn action and a King is unlikely given that he checked river so I'm betting river strong with confidence that we take this down the vast majority of the time.

First, I would be raising the flop here.

As played I am not bluffing the river. You say hes a reg, but not if he is good or bad. If hes decent he will probably realize that there aren;t many K's in your range. What K do you have that can call 20 on that flop? Since you didn't raise preflop he will likely not put you on AK. Does he really think you call the flop with KJ, K10, or K9 since you said you were playing tight?

As a result I think you get called by many 2 pair combos that beat you on the river. I rarely think you get paid by anything you beat and he likely wont put you on a K. In my opinion at this point you have little FE and don't get much value from hands you beat, so I am checking the river.

What was your plan otf? I'd only call if I were planning on raising V's lead ott if a card 7 or lower hits. I'd raise for value, what hands are b/f? oesd's aren't folding, Ax isn't folding, get value here.

River is a great card to bet if you didn't bet ott. I don't know what hands V can put you on the called otf, bet ott, and now made the straight. Is V even thinking on that level?
