Cash table at my local casino full ring 0.5/1 blinds. The table is fairly laggy, a few decent players who are tag but can mix it up a bit.

I raise to £5 utg with JJ, utg +2 who joined the table a few hands earlier calls. Utg +3, seemed a fairly average player, maybe a bit loose preflop but generally tightened up post flop, also calls and another lp calls. Flop is 9d 10d 4s. I cont. bet £10 into the £21.50 pot, utg+1 thinks for a while plays around with his chips and eventually decides to raise to £39, he had made a similar bet the hand previous which didnt get called, then utg+3 pretty quickly decides to shove over the top for £55, my stack is 70, utg +2 has me covered. When utg +1 raise my initial instinct was that he was weak and making a stab, probably a draw at best. Whats your move?

Spoiler:
I decide that with two players in for that amount that I must be behind to two pair or a set from utg +3, and probably a flush draw from utg+1. I fold, utg+1 puts in the extra £16 and tables Q6o and utg+3 shows 89o. Turns an 8 rivers a Q. After the hand utg+2 said he didnt believe i had any of it and also apparently utg+3 said i'll gamble as he shoved. I was planning on instashoving to utg+2 but after someone else gets involved i dont see how i can call, maybe i'm just too tight.

2nd hand im in BB with Kh10d, 4 or 5 limpers, standard for the table, i just check, flop comes Jh Qh 7h, checks round to the button who bets £6, i think for a while and its a player ive played with a few times a tight player but will fall in love with a hand. I decide that i doubt he has a flush as i've seen him be over trappy and play himself into trouble. I decide to call because i figure worst case im drawing to a straight and flush to beat him. Luckily everyone behind folds as i did worry about a re-raise. Turn is the Kd. He checks. I decide that i should bet, I bet £12. He calls, river blank he checks i bet 20 he calls and shows down two pairs J7. I just want to hear your opinions on whether i should check behind the turn and or river, or even fold the flop. There is plenty of room for improvement in my game and opinions will be happily taken, good or bad. Thanks.

you may want to remove the results as it will influence responses.

but i can tell you hand2 river is a check behind unless you want to bluff in which case your gonna have to seriously bomb it.

I don't know how to edit the op to take out the results... I'm a forum fish lol

And yeh i dont know what i was aiming for with the bet on the river. It was a bet that was only getting called by a hand that was beating me.

not a big deal, welcome to 2+2!

one of the biggest problems i have is piecing together information realtime to determine what villain has. usually what happens is afterwards i realize "aahh of course he had that i shoulda known because he checked back flop or bet 1/4 pot like that other time..." etc etc.

I'm not too bad at piecing the information together (although tonight after the jacks hand it seemed every decision i made was wrong, must have got me psycologically) and i can generally work out what a person should have based on the action. But it makes me talk myself into calling only to find out that someone has played a hand very unconventionally and managed to get me to call a bet on the end that i wouldnt if they had played it in a standard way. Though to give my self a little credit i have started to ignore what should be happening early on in tournaments and tend to make the hero calls when deeper in tourneys.

Hope any of that makes sense lol
