Hero: Mid Age Asian. Recreational Tight passive image. Break even player
Villain: Retired White Male in his sixty, Slightly less Tight, slightly more aggressive. Definitely thinking player, recreational, but probably winning.

Hero is UTG with AK and and stack of $1200~. Villain covers, he recently won a few large pot and run up to $2500+.

Hero limp, MID raise to $15, two callers including Villain in BB. Hero raise to $85. Everyone else flops. Villain calls $85.

Flop: A 8 3

Villain donks $125. Hero Calls.

Turns: A 8 3 J

Villain leads $325. Hero ???

Will post result later.

Reraise bigger pre. Raise/fold flop. As played probably fold turn but you shouldn't be in this spot.

Make your 3 bet pf larger since you have a lot of potential callers to wade through also stacks are deeper. I like making it 115.

As played villain's range is relatively strong as he has the 2 lower sets, and all the AQ and lower so some of which are 2 pair.

Given the dry board I don't see much value in raising so the flop is a clear call for me as I don't think you would be raising any of your range.

Turn: not the greatest card as it's another card that can give villain potential 2 pair. But since you are at the top of your range I think you need to call and evaluate river.

Can't fold yet. Pre is so terribly small.

I dont think villain has sets in his range here. The board is so dry, why would villain donk his sets and play them so aggressively.

I mean based on preflop action, yea villain could have sets, but based on flop n turn action, i wouldnt put him on sets.

I think its more likely villain is overplaying some Ax hand.

I would call n see a river.

you just have to call and play the river. he can for sure have you beat, but you have a really good hand, so just play your hand. i don't think he would play trip aces like this. but it could be a-k, 8s, 3s. the thing is we don't beat many made hands like him fire 3/4 pot on turn with a-q here would be mad aggressive. like if we had kings we would have an easy fold. so yeah i would call the 320 and see what he did on river.

I guess the consense here is that pre 3bet was a little on the lowside. Playing AKo OOP is always going to have some risk. This hand is likely to be very villain dependent and soul read will be needed.

Spoiler:
hero folded to the turn bet with AKo facing up. Villian shows AJo. I was very friendly with villain so he was willing to show his hand. Though my friendliness might have gave him enough information to try out play me as I also shown him a few hands when I tanked in this session. Overall I think I was still a little passive.
