2/5 Whiffing the big draw, now what? 2/5 Whiffing the big draw, now what?

Villain isn't a very good player. He is a reg in the room but not a natural poker player, tends to overthink, folds way too much imo, in situations where he should be calling his entire range pre flop he tends to fold. Tends to call too often on the river tho. I'm just generally not impressed with his poker game. Doesn't bluff often but when he does it seems incongruous to me but anyway

stacks are around 1200 effective here, villain raises over one limp to 20 on the CO, BTN calls, hero defends the BB with 85, limper calls and it's 4way

354

hero bets 50, only villain calls

7

hero bets 115, villain calls

Clear range advantage to you here. Seems like he'll have more 88-JJ type hands, plus some bigger diamonds (if he's more passive post flop) than anything.

Concerned about his tendency to call rivers though, but probably still go for it. Pot is what, ~400?

Edit: Upon reflection, I probably size up the river bet to apply max pressure, even if you aren't giving yourself a good bluffing price.

You should be able to rep a straight somewhat credibly but if V isn’t paying that much attention and tends to call on the river when he shouldn’t, then i’d Say it’s not a great spot to bluff. V seems like the type to shrug call with 10’s. Value own him when you have the 6. Don’t fire the 3rd bullet when you don’t.
