Two hands with the same villain.

Villain plays pretty much constantly. I doubt he's a big winner but I have to play cautiously when I'm in a hand with him and pick my spots to bluff because he plays very tight. That being said, i've gotten some big pots on him because
I tend to play implied odds vs him. I had KJs OTB one time and 3bet, he raised pretty big from the BB, everyone but me folded, flop was KKx, he bet small, I called, turn J, he checked, I bet big, river was whatever, he checked I shoved and he called and flipped over pocker aces after I showed

He was probably on tilt that day because I'm sure he usually folds. Earlier in the session i knocked the table to a limpfest on my BB with J3o, turn gave me a straight with 9TQK board with three clubs. I check called his bet. The river put another club down. I didn't have a club but I bet 60% of the pot which only amounted to about $45 but he tank folded. I assume he didn't bet on the flop even tho he probably had something like QJ or even a flopped straight

So he's a bit too cautious and somewhat passive but not a terrible player by any stretch. He can read the board anyway. He plays a lot and is a decent hand reader

Hero just arrives at table and drops his blacks on the table so only buying in for 500 for the first round at a table that allows 1000 BI

dealt QT opens UTG+1 to 20, villain (covers) calls, button calls, blinds call

Flop (95)
Q73

Hero bets 55, villain calls, everyone else gets out of the way

Turn (205)

T

Hand 2

straddle on

Hero (1000) opens HJ with 8T to 30

Villain (covers) calls from button, blinds fold

Flop (70)

A78

Hero bets 45, villain calls

Turn (160) T

Hero bets 95, villain calls

(340)

Not sure how you ended description of V as a decent hand reader after providing two examples in which he's not a good hand reader.

Clearly bet for value.

Without knowing much about V's bluffing frequency and his perception of your calling frequency, this is clearly a bet/fold situation targeting his Ax range. I would make a bet around $130 range.

H1: QTs open pre UTG+1, assuming full ring, is the bottom of your range. It's a fairly loose open. In any case, yeah, obvious turn bet for value. Not folding to a turn raise, either. You can probably get 3 streets here pretty easy vs. most Qx hands.

H2: I think a bet is super thin but if you think V will call 3 streets off with Ax then go for it. I'd probably bet pretty small unless you think he's capable of bluff-raising a small river bet.

both hands are clear check/calls on the flop but you need to bet both turns.
