I have one interesting hand from my recent trip to Vegas.

5 way limped pot (SB completes), I check my option with 75

Flop is 636. Hand checks around.

Turn is 4. SB checks. I fire out 25 (roughly a PSB). Folded to SB who c/r to 80.

I had been playing with the SB for awhile. He was not Vegas reg (from Oregon) but seemed like an okay, but not great player. He has a tendency to over-value TP hands in raised pots, but I have not seen him push draws at all. When he raised here my range for him was air, 6x, boats and possibly a big drawing hand. Effective stacks are about 950. Villain bought in for 1000 and lost 300 with AJ vs. AK and rebought for another 300.

All opinions are welcome.

He probably just has a six but with the board paired and you being deep I'm not looking to bloat the pot any more. I'd call here and call the river.

Weird check raise... You think if he had a 6 he would of led the turn instead of check raising... you also think if he has a boat he would of just called your bet... smells like a bruff to me. Maybe he has a pair and a OESD (45 ldo). I would just flat though like stated above... because... possibly just maybe if I thought it was a bruff I would move in on him OTR... call call is not a bad line though... safe but not bad.

agreed with this. I think the best he has is a nekkid 6. I call and extrat some value on the river.

Based on how he BI 200bb he thinks highly of himself. This might be an elaborate attempt to try to re-steal your obvious "steal". I call, and let him hang himself on the river if he bets, if he checks I bet again and I probably don't fold if he CR again.

Thanks guise. Good replies.

I called for the most of the reasons outlined and the river was K

He checked to me. What do we like for a value bet size?

lolz.... I bet 130. He called and showed a 4 and mucked his other card.

Obviously my opinion of him changed after this hand, but he left the table about 8 hands later.

I thought the turn c/r was interesting. Not so much the c/r itself, but more how to react to it.

I can post 3 bad beats.

Not the most interesting hand to be honest, but you played it perfectly IMO, about how I would have played it (though I often play it poor so take that comment with a grain of salt!)

i think i raise the turn. and even if u just call the turn there are blanks on the river that you should be raising imo. this isn't an immed c/c as ppl are suggesting.

you have way too good a hand to turn it into a bluff catcher and he has some good 2nd best hands w/ 6x and the 25 straight

Honestly, I played over 30 hours of live poker and this was the most interesting hand. Of course 30 hours of live poker translates into about 1000 hands........

Bolded part I'm not clear on. We aren't chk/calling anywhere because we are in position.

Regarding the turn raise: is it raise/call if he 4bets our turn 3bet? I think raising narrows his range quite a bit since we're deep, but I could be wrong.

i meant c/c as call/call not chk/call. sry.

and yea i'm raise calling the turn. maybe raise/folding the river if i called the turn. raise/folding b/c there are no semi-bluff hands he could be raising with now that he could on the turn.

Call me a nit, but I'm not stacking off 200bb with a straight on a paired board. I think reraising the turn and calling a shove is bad unless you have some very specific reads or history with villian.

He's either terrible or really advanced. A c/r with a 4 with plan or c/c blank rivers is pretty sexy since you are often bluffing missed draws. But that would be very advanced for 2/4

I'll take option 1. There is no way that this guy was at the level where he was thinking along these lines.

That being said, I was thinking that I needed to bet big on the river blank after he chkd to make it look "bluffy".
