Hero BTN $1200- Early 30s recreational regular. Talkative and gets along with almost everyone

Villian CO $500- Just moved to my right (thanks bud) aggro asian guy who just got stacked when he shoved and got called all in and he just showed bottom pair then mucked (1 card didnt see other)

There are a few limpers when Villain limps. Hero looks at JT and makes it $35, folds to Villain who calls.

Flop $85 1069 Villain checks, hero bets $60 (sizing?) Villain check raises to $165... Hero calls..

Turn $415 J Villain checks hero checks.

River $A villain checks and hero shoves $300eff. Villain calls.

Too thin? I don't put him on the straight when he checks. My initial read was when he raised me on the flop he had some sort of Pair/Flushdraw or Pair/Straight draw...

If you call this check raise, why didn't you shove the turn after you improved and he checked? You have the perfect amount left for a jam.

To answer your question though, No, I dont think shoving the river is too thin at all.

Yeah, you're 100% right as soon as I checked back the turn I was mad at myself for giving him a free card especially for the range I put him on.

Thanks

Raising pre is probably okay? I'm inclined to overlimp here myself, but JTo could at be the bottom of you raising range, I guess.

Flop seems like a super standard check. You made things very difficult for yourself when you decided to cbet big and then call the raise.

As played, with 3/4 pot behind, sure let's just shove the best turn that we could hope for basically.

As played, it's probably still a shove on the river, but I don't even think it's a no-brainer.

Why did you call his Check Raise on the Flop?

I see two possibilities. Either calling his check raise or re-raising his raise.

Why did we go for the call?

AP, agree on shoving in the turn.

I called because I think he can easily have a pair+fd here. I think folding my top pair all the time isn’t the right play, especially knowing villain is capable of check raising light.

I definitely think I should’ve shoved turn given it’s the best card for us but I was planning on calling another bet if turn completely blanked. If he triple barralled blank blank I probably find the fold.

Hope that explains my thought process a bit better

Flop sizing great.

Check back river, not sure what river shove does for us. He's never folding much of anything he an asian definitely not folding an ace.
