What are you trying to fold out by turning your hand into a bluff? AK and KQ are basically the nuts on this board, they are never folding.

I think in Holdem, top trips with a 9 kicker on the flop is too high in range to be a bluff.

Obviously, a hand such as AsQs would be a bluff.

OP wanted an opportunity to bluff, but instead played a high value hand aggressively. The actual merits of playing the hand this way are less important than understanding what a bluff is.

Now, if this was the river and hero entire range is value, then taking the bottom of that range and bluffing would actually be a bluff. But even then, that would be some of the worst 2-pair combos, not trips with 9 kicker.

Acknowledging that both players are likely value heavy does not mean that our ranges are simply winners/losers and anything we suspect might lose is a bluff.

This is a bet for value, and a good one, not even thin value imo.
