The first call + barrel turn and river should get some respect. I am floating flop and would of folded turn to aggression. Also if I magically hit my 2 outer i'm in a commanding lead. I don't think the hand was all that poorly played and I think I might of checked river back with an A which would of probably been a losing play.
I think this guy might of been the only person at the table this bluff would of worked against, so maybe it doesn't look ideal, but people do a lot of strange things in live poker. My line looked like pure value even though he was getting a pretty decent price to call.
So V had pretty much what everyone thought he'd have here. Originally I said I thought he had A10-AQ but I failed to realize that the turn was a Q. Obviously he didn't have top 2. V having AJ here seems standard as standard could be.
Your river bet got the job done this time, but I think you were given a gift by your V. Nothing changed OTR, so if he called turn he needed to call river, especially with the price you gave him. If he was unwilling to call river, then he should have just folded turn. NH, glad it worked out, but I wouldn't expect to get too many Vs to fold in this situation, especially for 1/2psbs in a pot that's not very large.
If V doesn't have AQ then the turn Q is a very good card because it decreases the likelihood of hero having AQ which he was already behind of. Assuming hero 3!'s AK then AJ is still the effective top top and should be b/f for value.
No idea what the hell villain is doing in this hand. Super MUBsy and he should probably remove AJ from his PFR range if this is how he plays it. I still don't think OP's read was strong enough to justify the bluff but that is why it is so difficult to objectively analyze live play.
Imho ... although the V may cbet a dry flop texture, the fact he is leading into 3 players is a totally different read. A passive, face-up player has AX something <100% of the time.
There is so much ego in threads like these. OP posts a bad play, reveals the result that it worked, then say they disagree with everyone saying it's a bad play. If you clearly have your mind made up that it was the right play then why post the hand to begin with?
