2/5 - trips raised on river. fold?

generally passive table with a cpl of tag players.
hero is early 30s indian guy in co with 1200.
v is young Asian guy recently sat in and won a small pot has around 550.

2 players limp in mp
hero(co) limps with JTo
v(btn) limps
SB completes
bb checks

flop(30)
KT8r
checks to hero
hero checks (expecting v to bet with a wide range here. gives us a chance to see what other limpers will do.)
v bets 20
everyone else folds
hero calls

turn(70)
KT8 T (4 suits)
hero checks (letting him bet with a wider range at this pot)
v bets 45. (at this point we would narrow his range to Tx KQ/KJ/K9/K8. 79/J9 for straight draws. maybe 99.
hero calls.

river(160)
KT8 T 7
hero bets 120 (value bet)
v raises to 350 (leaving him 130 behind)
we need 230 to win 630 but what can we beat. hero has to have a king or T9 or T6 and lower. J9 gets there. he could be bluffing with 79 or a stone cold bluff.

Re: 2/5 - trips raised on river. fold?

limping with JTo in Co is meh, but with the right table justifiable
Flop is a clear fold, you will rarely see people c-betting air into 4 other people
I like the call on the turn, you'd probably fold out every K but AK with a raise and chances getting value on the river increase as well.
As played, the river is a fold - like you said, what do you beat?

Post more reads on the villain in the hand
Raise preflop over the limpers in CO
Once you c/c turn, I'd just c/c river against most, against fishier players I'd lead turn and river

River is a fold

Looks like a fold to me without more information.

pre ... loose passives often call reasonable raises. 2/4 ppl in hand are >150bb deep. good time to limp in multi way.
flop ... this was a stereotype call based on young hoodie wearing Asian who I expect in a vacuum to bet 80%+ of the time after 4 checks. maybe a little too optimistic on my part.

Re: 2/5 - trips raised on river. fold?

Is he really betting a ten on the flop into 6 players? KT or T8, maybe he has 88 for bottom set, but at 2/5 many players will raise 88 otb.

I doubt he has J9. Being otb, he surely would take a free card otf or ott.

Our hand kinda looks like QJ, our sizing is bad otr, if our plan is to b/f, i'd go for 80-95.

I think we should c/c here. I think its closer than everyone is saying. But if we don't know that V will over value TP hands or capable of spaz with QJ/97...we fold here and are fine with it.

Re: 2/5 - trips raised on river. fold?

I bet the flop and fold to a raise. Maybe we can steal position and get the pot heads up with one of the earlier limpers. A good Kx OR better we would have heard from pre-flop or on the flop from the earlier limpers. I think we have the best hand frequently at this point. As played, your opponent just bet into five players after we checked, I doubt he is doing this too many hands worse than ours, I'd likely just fold and move on. Some of the of turn cards that would improve our hand could also improve hands in his range too and there are few astounding turn cards. Most importantly, if we do improve beyond pair of tens, what types of board textures and hands of his can we get value from?
