2/5 game last night at Foxwoods. Stacks are relatively deep. No real reads, just got back from dinner and it's a host a new players at the table.

MP raises to $20. V1 calls from the hijack starting with $1500. V2 calls from the button starting with $600. Hero in sb has AdAx and raises to $100.

V1 calls and V2 calls.

Flop 983ddx. Hero cbets $225, V1 calls, V2 folds.

Turns 8x. Hero checks, V1 bets $350 and hero calls.

River 3x. Hero checks, villain goes allin for $850. Hero?

I should have been more specific here. Do you think I took a proper line with AA in this spot? Should I have c/r the turn or put in a second barrel?

Obv its a good runout for AA giving him less likely a flopped set when board pairs twice and I understand that once I c/c the turn I have to check the river to give him the opportunity to bluff.

Just wondering if this is an optimal line or looking for opinions on how others would play out this hand.

Your line could be good or bad and it all really depends on this. Even if you haven't seen a showdown from this villain you should have a whole host of reads.
-What is the max buy in there, did he buy in for max or close to it, any idea how he got that deep stack?
-you were playing on a Friday, any idea if he came after work or in the middle of the day?
-how old is the villain?
-does he seem like he has played online before?
-have you ever seen him at the casino before, do any regs or dealers know him?
-how often do you play at Foxwoods? Is there any chance villain could know of you?
-how deep is your stack? What did you buy in for?
-how old are you/what type of generalizations can the villain be making about your appearance?

Answers to any or all of these questions can really help you start to form a read even with a very limited sample.

I would raise more pre to set up a lower SPR, making it easier to stack off post, as well as making it easier to play from the sb. I go $120 bc we have 3 villians already. We also dnt know MP's stack size...this would help planning our sizing pre.

When we have very drawy flop like this, I like a bet on the flop and turn...depending on rivers I may bet small to indue or c/r if obv draws miss.

As played, we are under repped and v1's hand looks like TT, A9 or a whiffed draw..so we call.

Both your preflop raise and you cbet are slightly too small.

The river just comes down to whatever read you can get, really. You're getting like 3-1.

Fwiw i like your sizing both pre flop and on the flop.

Cbet size is fine....we want value from entire range...draws, TT-QQ.

Pre needs to be bigger for a number o reasons. Some I already mentioned. Other being...when a pot gets big, fish get more and more emotionaly attached to it. Another, if the flop is drawy and we don't block the nfd, we can stack a hand like overs + FD easier. Another...if villian has QQ and we size big pre...a lot of fish think we have TT-JJ and want FE, this will induce from QQ / KK / AK hands....unless they're old nits obv

Why did you check the turn? Seems like a clear bet. If your image is so strong that you can't possibly get called by worse here, then c/call the flop by all means.

Anyways, it goes without saying that he's going to have all 7 combos >= 98s on the river but getting ~2.75:1 you only need him to bluff with 3 combos...meh, how can you fold?
