1k effective, villain sat down one orbit ago. Seems recreational and moderately loose, but its only been 10 hands.

Folds to Hero who opens 20 in MP with AsQd. Villain calls on button and BB calls.

Flop: Qc Js 7s.

Checks to Hero who bets 40. Villain pauses for 5-10 seconds before calling. Seems to debate calling vs folding. BB folds.

Turn: 8s.

Hero bets 75. Villain raises to 175 pretty quickly. Hero calls.

River: Qs

Hero?

Interested in river strategies. We can debate the turn lead; obviously I was not thrilled with the turn but there is still a ton of value in leading. When we are raised, this is a bluff <5% especially holding the As. Still, with the NFD and the small raise, it's an easy call.

Lead small like $125. Turn is meh. You’re getting 4:1 but may only have 7 outs and minimal implied odds.

Check turn, every draw hit. Too thin, only a couple of combos of KsQx come to mind.

AP, have to lead river as turn call necessitates you get a fair return. $145.

I like c/c a big bet and c/r a small bet.
It looks like v has a made hand and wants to target Trip Queens

I think the flop bet is too small. I go more than half pot with top/top vs. three players on a drawy board.

Turn is a check. As played, I make the call, too, but not thrilled with it.

River is a small bet and hope to get a crying call. If he raises, you have some serious soul-reading to do. I might even check/call.

(Please put pot size on each street!)

I seem to have deviated from the consensus here. I led the the river small. The thinking was that V made his hand on the turn, which should mean that the nut flush is good. V raised pretty quickly. Often I would just snap fold here, but the line was very fishy. QJ is blocked, JJ and 77 unlikely for several reasons, including flop smoothcall. This combined with the fishiness of the player led me to a call - V turns over 88. Learn from my mistakes.

What was the bet and the raise size? Villain would have to be a complete fish to raise a hand like KT on the river and there aren’t many combos available unless he’s playing every single Kxs.

Nothing says boat quite like a river raise from a fish on a paired board w a 4flush and you have the nfb.
