Love it or hate it??

I don't know much about the villain in this hand. He's Asian, seems decent.

UTG villain straddles pot to $10. A couple of limpers. Hero raises to $55 with TT in BB. Straddle calls. Others fold.

Flop ($130):T99dd.
Hero checks. Villain bets $80. Hero calls.

Turn ($290): 6x
Hero checks. Villain bets $160. Hero calls.

River ($610): 3x
Hero shoves all-in for about $515

Click it back on the turn imo.
Then shove the river.

If V could read hands well, it would look like exactly what we have, but that doesn't matter if he doesn't act on it / can't read / can't fold anyway.

Well, you take away all his bluffs on the river if he is indeed sitting there empty when arriving on this brick river. All straightdraws and flushdraw missed, so he should be empty a decent portion of the time. So the question is how often he does fire that third barrell, wich is necessary for you to gain anymore value out of him with those hands.

On the other hand your getting fully paid off by alot of his valuerange like a slowplayed big overpair like QQ, or basically any 9x. Alle the draws bricked, so if he has value he may very well put you on a funky bluffshove and click the call button.

So as a mix up line from time to time i like it.

There is literally zero reason to bet this river.

I'm definitely behind the clicking it back on turn. Seems like a better way to get value than jamming for almost pot on river. Also gives villain the opportunity to think we're spazzing out or spaz out himself and jam over us.

Yeah I think I'd usually agree... The way this table was playing, though, I just kept seeing all sorts of weird check backs. I would've been super disgusted if he showed up with a ten or JJ or QQ or 88/lower pairs that decided to check back (I was obviously hoping to get heroed here if he did have an underpair).

Also, after the turn, the way he bet, my read was mostly that he was pretty strong and had a real hand - i.e. not a draw/bluff... Which would imply I should raise turn... But I've seen so many regs making big sometimes ridiculous baluga folds, so while I really really wanted to raise turn, I was a bit worried about a hero fold.

Still definitely ok with criticism ITT. It's not how I'd normally play this.

Check the river, Asian guys are crrrrrazy most of the time and will fire again. I don't think JJ, 88 is hero calling there. I don't think a 9 will check back. Let him fire again with all his bluffs.

Although Vs line looks very strong, doesn't a turn c/r from Hero look insanely stronger? It takes away all his bluffs/thin value and gets looked up by barely nothing.

OTOH, by c/c and shoving the river, you could atleast look like some missed draws and get looked up light.

He's not triple-barreling air OTR.

yeah click it back on turn, raise min, and jam the river. cross your fingers you get a call.

AP check the river any hand he will call you with (like a 9) should be betting anyway and you let him fire third barrel with his missed draws.

Whatever the case, it worked well this hand and I got villain's stack... Maybe results would've been the same if I x/r flop. But I feel like suddenly clicking back turn does look super strong after raising pre and x/c flop.

When I shipped, villain said, "well I guess you either have tens full or you missed your draw. I call" - so at least he was thinking what I wanted him to...
