[2/5] Straddled 3bet pot, facing overbet shove on the flop [2/5] Straddled 3bet pot, facing overbet shove on the flop

End of long session in Florida

Table is really passive preflop. Limp call a lot, or raises really wide ranges.

Straddle UTG (135) (tilted spewy vilain), UTG+1 opens to 35 (covers) (old overvalue - play too many hands), folds to Hero (835) (25 white with hoodie) on Button raises KQo to 110 for value (mostly against straddler), straddler allin for 135, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

Flop (420) K53ss
UTG+1 puts me allin for 700...

We loose against AA, KK, AK, but I dont think he shoves KK or AK as he would get not oftenly paid.

He may have some AxXs, that we are ahead of.

Maybe 33, 55, but not sure if he open raise pre with these.

We beat also KJ, KT, split with KQ...

My normal game is 1/2, but play occasionally 2/5, I'm a rec player and a bit scared money I would say.

Am I suppose to count the straddle so that I am only 70bb deep, and not 140bb?

Am I overthinking in this spot?

Thoughts?

I don't like the play pre. KQo is a borderline hand for a fold in GTO vs an EP raise from UTG+1. To push this hand all the way from fold to 3bet FOR VALUE would require villian to be calling your three bet Uber wide, and this is an old guy he would need to be a total maniac to make this call a profitable play for value. If you think he's opening wide just call. That way you don't get him to fold all the hands your dominating.

The amount of BB you are deep doesn't matter, it's about your stack size relative to the pot.

Was the king the king of spades? Or did you hold the king of spades? Do you have any more reads on villian? This is a massive overbet that polarizes his range, so your decision in this spot is super player dependant. Against the vast majority of players I'm folding. Mostly because he can't be doing this with spade draws, because he still needs to beat the all in player.

Combo draws do make a lot of sense which is why I mentioned the Ks. Just fold unless villian is a super aggro manaic and also the Ks is not in your hand or on the table.

And maybe he even flatted with AK...

Honestly just fold :P

Ks was neither in my hand nor on the table.

Vilain was no crazy maniac, so I guess my biggest mistake was preflop...

My raise was also to iso the tilted straddler.

What's kinda sick about this spot is that it doesn't really make sense to play any hand this way, so you might talk yourself into calling thinking hes only doing this with XYZ hands or whatnot.

I think the bottom line is that the all in player is protecting you from being bluffs somewhat so without a particular player read this is a clear fold post flop.

In fact, the hand before, the old guy doubled up through the straddler with a raise, straddler 3bet, he 4 bet shoved with 77 and was good. So theres that...
