V in this hand is an unknown, but is opening for $20 almost every hand. Seems like a good LAG, late 20's, early 30s's, skinny white kid. In an earlier hand V opens for $20 from UTG and H just flats with AA and calls down a triple barrel and is good on a KJxx8 board when V shows an 8.

On this hand V opens button to $20 and H 3 bets AK from SB.
V clicks it back to $140 with 400ish behind. V covers and snap shoves.
V has not 4 bet at all yet in this session even though 4 bets are rare. I think he knows that I would think his button range is very wide, so my 3 bet is very standard. But I wonder how often he is clicking back because he thinks, I am just raising bc I think he is light? Or am I just leveling myself here>

I really don't like to GII with nothing but AK and I don't know how much FE I have once he 4 bets, so I a wondering if I overplayed this or what?

First of all, raising to 20 every hand and barreling off doesn't make you a good LAG. Second can you clarify the action in the AK hand? What you wrote makes no sense.

The player in question sounds like a spewtard/maniac. In which case, I'm shoving AK 100% of the time, at these stack sizes. The real question is why are you 3-betting AK, but not AA?

Shoving AK against a wide range with some fold equity is +EV. Shoving AK against an extremely tight range is spew.

Savvy players with wide opening ranges can have an extremely tight 4bet range. Most players have an extremely tight 4bet range (like KK+ or AA).

It comes down to the read. Calculate some EVs against KK+ and QQ+ and AK,JJ+ and 10% range to understand how profitable a shove can be versus how disastrous it can be.

^^ I'd say the question is why are you flatting AA but not AK?

OP got 4 streets by not 3b'ing AA, had he 3b it he probably ends the hand with a flop c-bet and wins a lot less. I'd do the same with AK

If H and V are heads up, then flatting with AA is a great play. If hero flats and 4 other players are going to tag along, then not so much.

This hand was HU too, the only action behind was the BB.

And playing big pp's MW isn't too bad of a thing if you are willing to fold to a lot of action w/o improving.

Agree, if you think villain is capable of 4betting worse than AK why are you not 3betting AA? OP is a little hard to read but not sure how much stack is left behind, it may be ok to call and see a flop here since its just a click back. however the click back makes me think villain is stronger.

I flatted AA bc I had position and to just let him barrel. If I 3bet AA I am afraid he will just fold most of his range. I 3 bet AK OOP hoping to just take it down, but when he snap 4bet I guess I just should have let it go. If he is messing around once in a while, so be it. It's not worth spewing off the buy in I just won off him with A high. Sort of erases that whole play and then some.

So I'm assuming you 3 bet to 60 or 70 and he essentially min-raised 4 bet....this is pretty much always AA or KK. Let it go and wait for a better spot.

Yea except for some reason I just snapped shipped on him. Like I guess I was tired of his relentless aggression or something. But at the same time, I have laid down KK pre 3x this year in what I would consider correct spots so I am capable of laying down big hands, but this guy I guess got to me.

It's possible in some spots to lay down KK pre deepstacked against the right person. Will NEVER fold KK for less than 100 BB though....just can't do it....
