2/5 river oop -- noob hand 2/5 river oop -- noob hand

hey guys -- curious to know what you think of this hand. sat down at a 2/5 table with 400.

limp on hijack with K9.
button calls, blinds check.

flop: T87
everyone checks to button, button quickly bets 25, blinds fold, i call.

turn: 2
i check, button bets 45 quickly, i call.

river: 3
i check, button bets 100 quickly.

action?

i don't have much of a read on this lady -- only saw one hand previously where she gave up TP on a Kxx board and opponent shows a bluff, to which she is visibly frustrated.

fwiw, i was thinking of c/r on flop but gave up that thought bc i thought she was weak with how quickly she bet.

thanks for any comments!

As played is fine, I guess. Flat river.

First, raise or fold preflop. this is usually the ace of diamonds or air with little exception. Any other flush or worse hand is basically turning their hand into a bluff. You need to make a read but it also needs to be on the flop on this hand.

Even if she checks the turn behind it is still a tough river spot. Its very plausible the ace of diamonds could bet the turn or check it to induce a bet from you on the river.

You also can't call the flop and then fold when your card comes. Have a plan on the flop. All your outs put 4 to a flush or 4 to a straight on board, hard for worse to pay you off. Also 6/9/J of diamonds are not great cards.

A plan of I'll call small bets or only 1 more bet or something like that is a bad plan.

Either fold flop or call all 3 streets. Also betting the flop is better than calling the flop. If she calls/raises the flop its more informative then check calling.

Lastly readless do you think this lady is ever 3 barreling or betting worse for value on the river?

i'm not 100% certain what read she had on me, given that i had just sat down an orbit ago. fwiw, i do *not* think she was 3 barreling, but the other thought i had was that i would expect someone holding Ax to raise preflop.

my hesitation was due to the way she was betting so quickly, especially her river bet of 100.

Fold pre. A noob should not be playing K9off period. It's really not that great of a hand period.

You should have bet flop. As played a call or fold would be ok. On turn you should have bet/folded for value. As played turn call is ok. On river if she bet smallish again we could call but after she more than doubles her bet I expect her to have us beat the vast majority of the time. The fact that she bet so quickly simply means she didn't think about her decision (one wouldn't have to think if they had a nut type hand or complete air...I wouldn't expect villain to be bluffing here much).

Your logic doesn't make much sense. Everyone folded to you and you open limped with Kx but you expect others to always raise Ax? Both good and players limp Ax pre for a variety of reasons.
