without considering the speech, I would snap call here. Speech gives me pause, for sure, but for 100 bbs and against a drunk, who could easily feel like QQ-AA is the nuts here, especially after you tank for a bit (He assumes you have a much worse hand than top 2), I probably call it off.

I'm surprised so many of you guys are putting more stock into a drunk's speech play than the overall strength of our hand. I'm thinking of employing more speech play since you guys are so easily manipulated into folding top two.

I would fold. Even the bottom of his range has quite a bit of equity. I think if we have a set here, we are fist pumping GII vs his range but with 2 pair, it is a sad fold.

As played, isn't this what we want to happen against a drunk villain? Sure, there's a lot of KQ here, but isn't there more QQ+ and even a fair amount of JJ, too? I'm not a fan of calling the 8x open, but once we did, this is about the best spot possible for us. Drunk guy could very well be blasting off here and even if he has the nuts, we're still live to four outs. If we're folding here, are we folding sets, too?

I still stand by my fold without information pre. I feel like it's a crying fold and if he bluffed you, he bluffed you. I am guessing low straight just for bragging rights (and him going full tilt if you have K-Q which he assumes you don't have since you don't snap call obviously)

Preflop isn't as bad as people are saying but it's still a fold.

Flop is bleh. Really bleh. I don't hate calling or folding. In game I probably just fold and cringe when he shows QQ or some ****.

lol at the preflop call. calling 8x opens from UTG open is pretty ridiculous. my guess is he probably has KK or AA and is putting you on QQ because you flatted an 8x open and then are thinking about the flop. hard to put you on top two in this spot because of your incredible preflop spew. very spewy. he's assuming you would call faster with better than KK and wants a call. that being said maybe everyone else is right and he has KQ. thats entirely possible he is drunk.

the live tell leans towards him having KQ, Q8, or 87. 87 makes the most sense based on the live tell since if you have that beat then he can only tie at best and not likely. he might be lying or he might actually fold AA after you table JT... who knows.

Only just read this thread and yeah I was calling before reading results. Was expecting villain to have a big pair or AJ though.

As played I’m calling forsuuure. I can’t believe so many people are saying fold. He can easily have AA KK QQ here, maybe even QJ. You have top two, you’re not even drawing dead if he did flop the nuts.

Yea this doesnt seem like a verbal angle to get us to do something, I think V genuinely thinks his hand is best and is surprised that he got so unlucky to already be beat on this flop. I dont think his words imply anything other than he's tilted and expects to lose no matter what we turn over. I put him on AA/KK generally here and am happy to get it in with top 2 vs a preflop overbet (that I would have never called with 100BB)

Thread is 17 months old. Probably convinced him that that nobody knew what they were talking about, so it wasn't worthwhile to listen to them.
