Game is 9 handed. Villain and I are 200BBs deep. Villain generally plays straightforward but can get a bit sticky with TPTK, TPGK type hands on Ace high boards. In an earlier hand, he squeezed (w/AQo) from BTN vs an UTG raise and MP call. Bet Axx flop, bet-called UTG's turn shove. Villain's AQ < UTG's AK. In a previous session, I have seen him bet-call check raises with what I assume AQ/AK type hands on Ace high boards.

UTG raises to 25, I call from SB, BB tries to raise to 105 but dealer corrects the action as a call since he threw in one chip.

Flop ($75) J97

I check, villain bets $25, UTG folds, I raise to $75, villain calls.

Turn ($225) J

I check, villain checks.

River ($225) 3

I check, villain bets $200, I...?

Another hand I don't understand any of it.

Why not 3 bet pre?

Don't see value in check raise on flop. Sure it''s value raise. We get value from a lot of hands. But it bloats pot and makes it a lot harder to get to showdown. Which may cost us equity.

Raise pre.

Flat flop.

As played. Call I guess. Massive amount of draws missed.

I honestly think I dislike every street.

QQ is a raise from the SB here unless utg is some crazy uber nit. If by flatting pre we do think he's a crazy uber nit then the flop check raise seems incongruous as a value play.

as played, if you are check raising flop then the check raise is way too small. I'd be going 100-110 given we're out of position.

the whole hand is weird tbh after you check raise flop and then check turn, so I can see why you might want to call because your line looks so FOS but as played, I fold river because I think he has an overpair or a J a huge proportion of the time

Fwiw, I don't follow the strat thinking behind any street until the river.

As played, I think your river decision boils down to analyzing the significance of the flop sizing. That is, based on history what does a 1/3 PSB mean in terms of his range. Appears he tends to overplay TP/OP hands, which leads me to think QQ+ is betting larger.
