V1: looser player, runs the game and not afraid to give action
V2: TAG, seems like he's been playing solid ABC poker which prints money at this table
Hero: TAG, known to be very aggro and not afraid to bluff

$1200 eff

Hero in SB dealt JJ

Folds to V1 in MP who raises to $20
V2 on button 3b! to $60

Hero elects to cold call $60. (rate this decision)
My thinking here is that V1 has rarely 4b! so I can see a flop with my hand.

V1 calls $60.

Pot $185
Flop 7 4 2

Hero x
V1 x
V2 bets $105

Hero raises to $310

I decided to reraise here in order to charge/deny equity from hands like AK/AQ with the Ac. Not sure if this thinking is correct but I wasn't sure how to play later streets if overcards came after I flatted. Probably x/fold.

V1 folds
V2 calls $310.

Pot $805
Turn 4 pairing the board

This shouldn't have affected either of our hands so my decision here was to x/call and play some rivers. I think betting here would have been fine as well after the x/raise on the flop but since I only had about a pot sized bet left, I decided to save it for a jam on some rivers.

Hero x
V2 x

Pot $805
River 7 double pairing the board

Hero jams $805

How do you feel about this jam? Overall, do you think this hand could have been played better?

Welcome to the forum.

Preflop: Fold.

An ABC player's 3 betting range matches up well against JJ. On top of that, if you call you're in awful position, first to act and caught between the aggressor on your right and an action player on your left.

Flop: As played, bet $100 with the intention of folding to a large raise. You have pretty good hand and a pretty good draw, but both are vulnerable. You can control the pot size by betting, and if the ABC TAG raises you can feel confident that you are behind.

Turn: As played, check/fold.

I don't see an ABC TAG calling your flop reraise with just the A. He might have TT or 99, but AA-QQ are more likely. Just check and hope you get to see a free river.

River: As played, shove.

The button showed weakness on the turn, and the board is scary enough that I would expect an ABC TAG to fold even AA here often enough to make bluffing profitable.

Just my opinion...

Makes sense. Let's say I bet $100 on the flop and V2 calls. What's the move on the turn if my hands doesn't improve? Another barrel? Then x/call or x/fold on river?

Against a loose player like this I would bet $150 on the turn to get value out of weaker hands like flush draws and top pair. On a blank river I'd fire another $150 out there and hope the big odds he's getting will convince him to call with something weak.

Just my opinion...

I’m 4b preflop vs ABC button 3b against the loose guy who runs the game. I think it’s for value too.

After flop, I’m in a check call mode to let 1 club hands keep semi-bluffing while we have blockers.

As played, i think the shove on the river is a bit weird. What are we hoping to get folds from that beat us?

Relatively small 3-bet from a tight player suggests a very strong range even OTB. If V2 was a bit less ABC and the type that could see this as light 3-bet opportunity IP, I would 4-bet.

Here a cold-call is fine given that you think a V1 4-bet is unlikely and we are deep enough to profitably set mine.

I’m pretty much checking range OTF. Given PF action our hand is not terribly strong despite having an overpair and a club. On monotone boards, esp multi-way, our money is only getting in against bigger overpairs, sets, and overs with nut club draw. We are not able to “pot control” OOP and we cannot “protect” or deny equity against AcK/AcQ - they are not folding.

This is a hope for a cheap showdown hand at this point. So I’m not on board with a c/r OTF. V2 is very unlikely to be c-betting no club unpaired hands here. As nitty as it seems, this is probably a fold to described V2. We could peel and eval turn but we are folding to barrels mostly and not even comfortable if a 4th club falls. Would much rather peel IP obv.

AP if I get to river, I think a jam is bad. We are certainly not getting called by worse so are we trying to bluff QQ-AA? Not a successful venture usually. Especially when our line doesn’t really make sense for a flopped flush and we don’t have 7x/4x in our SB 3-bet cold-calling range.
