Been at this table 1-2 hours. Villain is a middle aged asian guy, no real reads on him, haven't seen him showdown anything or get OOL, but table is fairly aggressive in general.

The most recent hands I played were folding a set of kings on the river in a big pot face up to an obvious completed flush. I then tripled up when I flopped top 2 and stacks went in on the turn.

Game is pretty deep at this point. Villain is effective stack with about 1,200.

OTTH

UTG+2 opens to 15, 1 caller. I make it 65 with AQ
Folds to V in SB who calls. Rest fold.

Flop (160) J73x

V leads out for 75.
Hero raises to 200
V calls

Turn (560) 2

V checks
Hero bets 400
V calls

River (1360) 9x

V checks
Hero ?

Curious to get your thoughts on this line and the river decision. Really thought I would be able to get most weaker hands to fold by the turn bet.

The call in the SB with the initial raiser and caller left to act seemed like he was calling with a weaker pair hoping to setmine, and the lead out on the flop nudged me towards that being the case with him not hitting his set. However, by the river wasn't so sure.

It's gross and weak but just fold flop. He flatted a 3b from SB so he's probably pretty strong and you have way better hands in this spot to continue with. AQ is stone cold bottom of your range.

I like a float on the flop w/ BDSD/BDFD and overs

you put yourself in a spot where jamming the river won't generate enough folds bc you only have less than a 1/2 psb so hard to imagine him folding

As played should I have just given up on turn?

You're not giving up. Just take the free card and check behind. You have a lot of outs.

Let me rephrase. Is it better to check behind turn and either give up on a blank or hope I hit the backdoor nut flush, or is there merit to checking turn and bluffing the river if I miss?

If an A/Q hits on the river and V bets out, can I even call a reasonably sized bet?

1) Yes
2) Probably not

You basically told him on the flop that you have an overpair and he doesnt care.

Thanks. Going through it after, that's what I was thinking. I'll post what he had later

Did you check?

I don’t care what he did, I care whether or not you play your JJ+ this way. If so, hammer river too.

Spoiler:
I jammed, but admit it was probably a mistake, was pretty tired at this point. Was surprised I got snap called down that light

Didnt see results.

Otf i’d just call, raising is pretty bad against a cold caller leading

Ott i’d check

Otr AP i shove, he doesnt have many flushes here and i expect to see a lot of pairs with a spade, 10s10x 9s9x, maybe QxJs, etc

Sick results, wtf. Raising flop is apparently a huge mistake against this type of player. In my experience I don't think someone is lead/folding in a 3b pot. I like raising leads in single raised pots when ranges are wider, and you can steal a bigger pot down the line with more room to work with. Getting donked into in a 3b pot is something else; they either have a big hand or don't give af. You don't really have to run too many bluffs either since we have so many top sets/overpairs, suited broadways.
