V(1500) International Chinese student in his early 20s. Not %100 calling station but calls a lot.

UTG straddles 10, V raised to 35, Hero(HJ covers) 3b to 100 with TT. Only V calls

Flop(215):245r
V checks, hero bets 120. V calls
Turn(455):6r
V checks, hero checks.
River(455):K
V bets 175.Hero calls

What about my river call?

Should I bet/fold on turn if V raises and check back on river if he only calls on turn?

River call is fine with AK. I would also b/f the turn vs a station.

What you holding?

Whatever it is assume you have 1 pair now.

Probably would rather b/f turn with PP as he doesn't have any draws that missed for us to bluff catch river with and we can still get called by lower PP and 67, 57 type hands.

Not an automatic call or fold on river. How aggressive is villain? Does he have any bluffs in his range? Does he have any straights? Could he be betting a worse hand for value? How good is he at reading boards? Does the small bet sizing mean anything?

My inclination is leaning fold slightly in abstract but this is really about reading villain and I could go either way at the table. The king hits AK, a very reasonable hand for you to bet flop and check turn. It's also a reasonable had for villain to call flop against what could be an air ball c-bet from you.

I lean slightly towards a fold on river... I just don't think he's (completely) bluffing with this sizing. He might be running an accidental bluff with 88 or 99 as a kind of blocker bet, but I think he can also have JJ, QQ, AK, and maybe sets, or even the straight with 33.

An important question is if he has a limp/calling range preflop, or does he open everything. That is, can he show up with hands like A4, A5, 67, etc after the preflop raise? If so, I'm starting to lean more towards a call. But if his preflop raise/call is more indicative of 66-QQ, AK, then i start leaning more towards fold.

As played, I would fold the river. This is a 3bet pot, and the king hits your range. Could he be making a blocker bet with JJ/QQ? We still lose. I don't think he's turning his hand into a bluff without any further reads. This looks more like a value bet.

I agree with this. I probably fold river unless you have a better read on V.

If V has bluffs, I think his line reps AK pretty well. Floated the river with a gutshot and two overs. After you check back the turn, he could put you on an overpair, so he would know the K scares you.

I 100% b/f the turn though.
