2/5 NL: Line check

V1(77,MP): Mid 40s white man. loose passive player and on his third buyin.
V2(680,Mp+2): 50s white man. Hard to describe his style, but he just lost a big pot(Hand 2) and very active now.

History hand 1:

First time play with V2 and this is very first hand.

V2 raises 25 on BTN. Hero calls with AKo on SB. 2 callers.
FLOP:KJJr. checks to V2. V2 all in for about 175. Hero calls. V has 44.

History hand2:
V2 raises to 20. SB 3 bets to 60 v2 calls.
FLOP: Q6Jr SB bets 50 V2 calls.
Turn: 6 SB checks. V2 bets 90. SB raises to 190. V2 calls.
River: 9 SB bets 200. V2 calls.
SB shows AA and V2 shows Q9o

The hand:

Pre flop: V1 limps, V2 raises to 20, co calls. Hero calls on BTN with 7c8C. V1 calls.

FLOP(80):KcJdTc
V1 all in for 57, V2 calls. Hero calls.
Turn(251):9s V2 bets 135. Hero tank calls.
River(521):2c V tank checks. Hero bets 250.

Should I raises on Flop? How's turn call? How's rive bet size?

Re: 2/5 NL: Line check

On the flop calling is for sure the best play in my eyes, at this stage we don't want V2 fold as we have 8 high and highly unlikely to beat V1 anyways if the flush draw misses. On the turn, assuming V2 has a Q we're not getting the direct odds to call but if we believe he will pay us off a decent percentage of the time when the flush hits calling is fine. I think river sizing is fine although I would personally bet a little bigger, around 300.

Re: 2/5 NL: Line check

This is one of those situations where it looks like you flopped a big hand but really you didn't. This board means your 9 is dirty more often then clean, any hand with a queen cuts massively into your equity. There are more nightmare cases then good cases, and the nightmares are worse. Even the best cases only give you near 50% equity but the worst leave you with <1%.

After V2 calls flop your options are fold or raise. The shove and call means your probably facing two better hands, at least one of which probably has a queen. Fold is probably your best option if V2 is tilted and you have little FE. If you do think you have FE then reraise to $200 is also workable.

As played, the turn call is meh. You almost never have the best hand at that point but V2 didn't put a lot of pressure on you. If you can get paid a fair portion of the time when you hit your flush then calling is OK. River bet is OK, you want a call from V2's likely straight.

No reason to raise the flop. Turn is fine. River, I think I'm shoving and just hoping he has a Q or a set that he can't release.

It`s well played.

But you have to get it in on the river -> Bet 500 OTR.

I forgot to mention my stack size. I cover him. So you think he would call 500 if he call 250?

Not always, but I don't see him folding a straight for 500. I think shoving is definitely more +EV.
