2/5 NL 9 handed

800 eff stacks

Limps around 5 ways and Hero (BB) checks the option w/ K 7

Flop (30): 4 T 5

SB checks, Hero checks, V1 checks from EP, checks around to a player in LP who bets 25, V2 on BTN calls, SB folds, Hero calls, V1 calls and another player calls behind V1.

5 ways to the turn.

Turn (155): K

Hero checks, V1 checks, checks around to V2 on the BTN who bets 85, Hero calls, V1 c/r to 350, folds around to Hero...

V1 has been playing close to the vest, mostly only opening and c-betting a high freq to chip up. Its fair to give him credit for possible bluffs/squeezes based on live reads/game flow.

V2 is also a pretty tight-aggressive player capable of barrelling draws but is value-heavy overall. Rest of the table is typical fit or fold/weak tight types.

Thoughts?

If V1 is bluffing, it would be a semi-bluff with some kind of draws. QJdd is out, QJhh is likely, but most players will probably make that raise pre in EP.

A2dd? Maybe, but that's literally 1 combo, and adding to QJhh, 2 combos.

I hate it and I would fold.

I think you've played it well so far. It looks like a semi-bluff squeeze. Perhaps Txdd, QJhh, 76dd. Sets really should c/r the flop. I suppose they could c/c, then c/r the turn. I'd give villain about half the set combos. KTs makes sense. I think you're about 50/50 on equity. I'd shove to get value from diamond draws or get them to fold their equity. You should have at least 7-9 outs if called by better.

I think this is a very easy fold. I would be shocked if a player who keeps it "close to the vest" is going bananas with anything besides 2p+ here.

Its interesting because our hand is live vs any other hand. Jamming over his c/r has 0% fold equity I think. So is it just a question of math at this point vs a range of 44/A4hh/54/67dd/KT/QJhh?

More complicated than that, because action is not over and hand is not over.

Disagree that we should assume anyone would check a set on this flop.. seems terrible to me. Same goes for the turn - shouldnt he be betting all his made hands here? Why would he risk it getting checked through on this board?

Think it depends on table dynamics a bit.. if V1 has a specific reason to think that V2 will bet if checked to on the turn than we can find a fold. Otherwise it seems that he has more semi bluff in his range than made hands so without any prior context id tend to gii.

I agree not check/raising the flop with a set is terrible. Low stakes players make terrible plays all the time. We shouldn't completely rule out a set when villain takes a c/c then c/r line. We shouldn't give full combos either.

Based on description, I can go either way: it's fold or shove.

This looks a lot like KT, though, which we are pretty far behind. Could also be a steal the way the hand has been played, because V1 and H look as if they are on draws.

Kind of depends on if you want to gamble or not and if you really think he's stealing. If you get a good sense he is stealing, shove.
