2/5- Minimum buy-in strategy? 2/5- Minimum buy-in strategy?

$200 minimum buy-in, which is 40 bb.

normal preflop raise w/no limpers is $15.
with 1 or more limpers, it's $25.

limp/call low pairs (22-77) to set mine and low A(2-7) suited.
c/r all in if you flop a set or nfd.
you are balanced.

else limp/shove (or just shove if there's a raise) with top 10% hands (88+, ATo, A8s, KQs).
aka preflop bingo.
showing 88 or A8s will keep you a little more balanced than just shoving TT+ or AT+/KQs.

What do you think?
Any other minimum buy-in strategies?

I would just look up a shortstack tourney strat.

40bb is too big for short-stack strategy, and too short for standard value strat. Seems like the worst of both worlds. Why bother? Play 1/2 until you can afford to buy in full.

This is just way too mechanical. I suggested something lien this for my wife on her first ever session. For anyone with the capacity to think through a situation, this can't be good.
Also what Garrick said. You're gonna get in some pretty sticky spots depending on your PFR siZing.

Just play a tight abc game preflop opening A10+ and limp calling your small pocket pairs. Take advantage of players opening to wide by 3betting hands ahead of their opening range. Once you run your stack up over 100bb+ open up your range in late position and take advantage of your tight image. Cash out once at 200bb

Good way to lose money. You don't have the odds to set mine profitably and you'll win $20 pots while losing $200 pots with your shove strategy.

Your strat should look something like this.

It's not much fun and I'm guessing you don't have the discipline or the bankroll (pure speculation on my part).

It actually is profitable because live players are bad.

We have a Russian shove bot in our room who I believe plays a similar strat profitably. He occasionally posts here. Basically he min buys and hit and runs to a different limit until an hour expires (room rule).... Rinse and repeat.

Not a style that will make you friends in the room.
