Interesting points about betting smaller. My thought in the hand was that I would set up a pot sized all-in on the turn which would bring a lot of backdoor draws. Also, I thought if my bet looked bigger it was bluffier and more likely to get called by this player in our first interaction.

I see a lot of people putting him on hands I just can never imagine him playing the way he did. My range for him was pairs and only pairs after he called the flop. This is maybe wrong? I am still learning.

When he shoved the river i eliminated the times he would have pairs like TT-QQ and only seeing sets.

However, I did call. I did not keep the table waiting. I realized I played the hand in a way to make him possibly go bonkers with 55,88,and some space for things im not accounting for.

Villian has 99.

Rebuy.

Well I think you can update your definition of him as a good player. Calling 99 OOP to a 3 bets with this SPR seems at best loose, and at worst bad. Perhaps he thinks he's not just set mining.

River is a mandatory call as played villain can be shoving worse for value with how we played the hand.

If we’re checking the turn with QQ/JJ then this is an easy shove for villain for value with any king since he’s blocking our AK/KQ combos and we might stack off her with Aa/QQ/JJ if we have those hands here.
